Not sure why food that I haven't had in weeks, even months, occasionally show up under "Recent" on my Android App. It's very annoying.

I've noticed that on my app the recent foods or most used foods are only foods that I inputed on my phone, foods from the website won't show up unless I have added them through the phone itself before
October 14, 2011 4:42 PM
See, I input 99% of my food through my phone. I just find it easier :3 I only input it through the website if my phone is being dumb xD

Same on my BB, something I might have eaten once, maybe six months ago will still be under recent.

try logging out and back in again, from your phone.

another good one is the "most used" even on the website, things I've entered once, in June, are still on "most used" well I don't think once qualifies as "most"

I know this is an older forum, but I'm having the EXACT same problem on my Android (Galaxy I) phone. I've deleted foods on the site, cleared my cache/data on the phone, and reinstalled the app and I still have the same problem. My recent foods shows items from over a YEAR ago and has NOTHING recent at all. If I go to "most used" these are incorrect also. Anyone ever get a reply from MFP on this one?

Same problem with iPhone. As far as I can tell, none of the mobile lists are being synched with the PC list. Mine are completely useless. On my iphone, the only saving grace is the ability to scan the foods and then go back at a later time to figure it out on my computer. It's pretty frustrating.

I have an issue with just "recent foods" whether on my phone or computer. There are somethings I've entered once and it's on my "most used" and something I'll have multiple times a week isn't on the "most used"

Hi folks,

Can I ask for a clarification?

Are you seeing unexpected items in your recent or most used lists immediately when you switch to those lists? Or are you seeing them when you begin to type a search?

I ask, because the items that appear when you being to search are auto-completions from previous searches, and these are not representative of the items that are actually in your recent or most used lists.

If there's a mismatch between the actual items in the list on the app and the list on the site, please respond and list a few of the items that you feel should not be appearing on the lists in the apps, so that we can investigate more fully.

Hi. I just went online & deleted a lot of foods from my list. I find it annoying to have to go through the whole list on my droid where I enter everything. Some items (like for me strawberries) were duplicate, so I deleted them.

I logged out of website. Went to phone, cleared cache & rebooted phone. Mfp re-syncedto website, but the long list of foods that I deleted, strawberries, chocolate, wendy's, etc are still on the list for my phone. It is timeconsuming to have to go through the whole list. Plus, from a diet standpoint, if I eat chocolate today & log it, I dont want to see it on my list all the time to make me crave it again. I use my list sometimes as guide. For example, for lunch I could have a sandwich with fruit, so that would be x calories. Hate to see that chocolate show up,there saying "yumm".

Please let me know what I need to do to fix my phone. It is making me crazy. Otherwise, I love your app, even if it is down fairly often.

Thanks!

When will this issue be resolved?
October 2, 2012 8:49 AM
Yeah you have to log out to reset the data. Personally I love that my Android hasn't caught up because my Android diary tracks sodium and sugar while my online diary tracks fiber and saturated fat. I also love to track sodium and sugar in private so I purposely don't log out/log back in to reset it.

And to answer your question Steven that's what it seems to be my "Recent Foods" on my phone are food I've logged from my phone & my diary there has the settings I set on my phone months ago, the "Recent Foods" on my laptop are ones I've inputted directly on my computer, which differ from the ones on my phone so there is a mismatch between what's on your laptop and what's on your phone, it seems if you stay logged in on your phone or you had certain settings to start with there then they don't change when you change the settings on your laptop. But I personally actually like that but that is what's going on

i agree with some people here, and others are just confusing me.

for me, when i try to add a food to my diary and look under "most used" it shows random foods that i haven't eaten in months (some are from when i first started mfp in march and haven't eaten since) - this is true for my phone and the website. when i look under "recent foods" on my phone, it only shows recent foods that i've entered while using my phone - it does not sync with my recent foods from my online profile. i use the website much more when entering foods, so it is irritating when i go to use my phone and i have to re-search for a food i know i ate yesterday.

hope that makes sense!

ETA: i logged out then back in on my phone and it seemed to have fixed the "recent foods" issue as of now. hope it stays synced!

Even with the recent Android update, my "recent" list refuses to add foods to the top that appear in other lists.

Example: I have ketchup under "frequent." If I use it for lunch and then want to add it for dinner, it will NOT show up under "recent" because it's in the other list. This used to never be the case for me. It's extremely annoying when I have frequent foods that are much lower in the list and won't show in recent after I've added them to my diary.

Same goes for foods I manually create in the database, like my protein powder. Say I had a protein shake the night before, and want one for breakfast. None of the foods will be under "recent" because the milk is under "frequent" and the protein is under "my foods."

I don't use the PC for my diary, so I don't know what the problem is.

Well as I read the last post on the "problem" that sounds like the app/ website is doing what it's designed to. Each meal list of items is broken down for just that slot by default. ONLY items logged before for breakfast will show in your most used / recent lists. You could use milk 1000 days in a row for breakfast and have it never show in lunch as a recent item if you've never used it for lunch.

You CAN however change the behaviour so that all your food items (up to 100, the 4 pages of 25 on recent tab) show up across all meals.

To get your food items logged wherever they are in your diary to any other slot of your diary...
Pick your platform

Website
food > food diary > pick a meal
on the "add food to (meal selected) page there is a search box and RIGHT below it
"or add favorites for (meal selected)
click that (meal selected) and change to the only other option "all meals"

No, my settings have always been to go across. Even if I add something to lunch that's on a frequent list, it will never show up under the recent list for lunch.

In the "Diary" section, I can swipe an item from right to left and a "Delete" button appears to remove a food item if say I added the wrong food item.

When I go to add a food item for lunch for example, my recent list has items listed from days / weeks ago that I don't want in there.
I should also be able to swipe right to left and have a "delete" button pop up to remove it from the recent list.

In other words, a way to remove un-needed entries from the database of recent food.
Or, the DB needs to clean it's self up say after seven days of a food item not being used in the diary, it falls off the list.
