Does anyone know approximately how many calories are burned in, let's say, 45 minutes of doing the mini-stepper? And also what it should be logged as? (step aerobics?)

Thanks =D

I don't actually know the answer as I'm trying to find it out myself. But I have a new one and, while it doesn't take my weight or height into consideration and therefore can't be too accurate, it gives me 7 calories for 4:30. I guess that's about 1.4 calories per minute. But I'm sure that's possibly not at all accurate. Some online calories burned give me more like 30 to 40 calories for the same time using a similar machine. I can't find the mini stepper listed. I'm not comfortable with those numbers, however. I think you're safe to assume 1.4 to 1.5 calorie per minute and yes, definitely log it. If your stepper is like mine, it's a whale of an effort and probably a real calorie-burner.

I think I may have found a link that will help us both. Give this one a shot. It seems to produce reasonable numbers and takes your weight into consideration. http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/calories_burned.asp smile
