Does anyone else get a real bad tummy ache and have problems when they go #2 after they eat Chipotle?

To narrow the field so I dont get dumb response re veggie bowls or salads, I eat a fajita burritto with double barbacoa and spicy salsa and sour cream.

Good grief people, get a life and do something other than click report because poo makes you uncomfortable...

I have no idea what Chipotle is so this is a random shot in the dark but is it possible that there is something in Chipotle that isn't in anything else you eat and you could be having an allergic reation? Might be worth a trip to the doctor.

Oh god I feel bad for you [even though I am the pooping blood] www.chipotle.com - its a taco and burrito place that makes really good food. Really fresh veggies and well cooked meat.

Could be the oil that they use to sautee the veggies, or sour cream that is not fresh..

Nope, Chipotle makes me feel good :)

Like I said before, I think you should avoid taking your double dose of Alli before eating Chipotle...or maybe next time it happens, you can use my toilet!

LOL! I tried to see the last post and figured it was due to reporting that I couldn't.

Spicy foods tend to disagree with me, and probably with a lot of people. I would go light on it :) Just imagine, humans weren't really meant to digest really spicy foods, and it's probably wreaking havoc on your digestive system.

Fail. McD's corp sold it in 2006, largely because the execs at Chipotle would not bow to pressure to lower their price point by using cheaper, less fresh ingredients. Get your facts straight, sister....

Chipotle hasn't been owned by McDonald's for years.

My guess would be a particular spice or pepper that you are sensitive to. Garlic powder, not fresh garlic or garlic salt, gives me terrible tummy pains. So do red bell peppers. Just the red ones. Onions and jalapenos are culprits for many as well.

Ehhhhh I dn- I have peppers and onions that have been fried on a cheesesteak now and again, that doesn't do it.

If it's a one time event, I'd wonder about food poisoning. If it's more often, I'd wonder about allergies or some other medical issue going on.

But I've yet to meet a doctor on here...get it checked out!

I've never been to Chipotles. But maybe there meat is old and laying around there and then the added salsa spiciness caused an incredibly uncomfortable bowel movement cause pain and unpleasantness ??
I just remember one of my guy friends saying to me that after eating McDonalds burgers makes them have the runs, because the meat is old and laying around for awhile cause some unpleasant bacteria to form??? But no idea and I hope everything works out for you!

I have never had Chipotle, but I can say I really don't want to now ohwell
August 25, 2011 12:28 PM
Sounds to me my friend that you have such a violent BM that you cause yourself to have a fissure. Please seek medical attention the next time it happens.
August 25, 2011 12:28 PM
Nope never had an issue, although we have 3 in our area and my co-worked is a chipotle addict and swears one of them gives him issues (I've never asked for specifics).

Anyhoo, maybe take a break from there for a bit and see if that helps. If you're having similar issues with other foods - see a doctor.

Sigh. THIS is probably true. But I LIKE it. When its in my mouth anyway..... I even got a bowl last time bc the fajita has 250 calories. I thought I was doing 'good.'

My dad likes to say, "If it hurts when you do that, don't do that." So if it screws up your guts to eat Chipotle, maybe don't eat there anymore. Or order a different meal.
August 25, 2011 12:28 PM
Spice can cause that, but I doubt anything in Chipotle's repertoire is up to snuff, particularly if you frequent spicy food. More likely is you were unfortunate enough to eat some food whose expiration date is questionable and your stomach is protesting. That sort of thing can happen anywhere, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Make sure you drink lots of fluids, and if it persists for more than a day or two go to the doctor.

Edit: It sounds like this has happened more than once. I assumed it was a first time deal and you were concerned. If this happens regularly at LEAST stop going to that chipotle. Talk to your doctor if you really want to eat there.

Depends on what your normal fiber intake is on non-Chipotle days, but I'd venture to guess it's a perfect storm of fibery colon blow.
