So I recently picked up a new pair of compression shorts and I was pleased to notice that they not only prevent chafing on my runs, and reduce rather annoying butt jiggle, but also make my butt look darned good in the process.

My question is this: is it kosher to wear compression shorts on their own or is this a strictly under your shorts thing? I wouldn't do it if I wasn't so proud of my rather obscenely muscular quads (and slowly reducing tushy) but I feel pretty fly in them. Plus I don't have to deal with my shorts sliding to my boobs (the never ending battle!).

Thoughts?

i would say at your weight, why the hell not show off your quads. i'm glad to hear they reduce the butt jiggle. at my weight (243) there's a damn lot of jiggle which is really bugging me. lol so i'm looking to pick up a pair of shorts myself. i ofcourse will spare the world that view. but i say, you should totally wear them alone.

If you feel good, I say go for it! I see people run in just compression shorts often, I'm more of a running skort kind of girl myself though!

When training, I wear them under something. When racing, I sport my tri shorts with nothing above them....easier to swim that way. :)

I never even thought of them as outerwear! Hmmmm......

I LOVE my pair of compression shorts. They're on the longer side, though - the come down to about 3" above my knee, so much longer than conventional running shorts. I feel like I would look absolutely dorky wearing shorts over top of them, since they're longer than any running shorts I've seen. So... I just wear them on their own. :)

I say if you feel comfortable in them (and it sounds like you do), then go ahead and wear them solo.

I think if I was a guy I'd be a little self-conscious about my dangly bits being on display. No that I haven't seen that in male runners. :D

I always wear them underneath my shorts, they highlight certain things for me way too much.. I'm sure it would be fine for women though.

you could rock them alone. you're skinny :P lol. I do both. Depends on how I'm feeling :D ! up to you!

I wear a compression Tri short on their own while running. On race days, I see some men doing the same thing, or wearing running shorts which are very short.

I usually wear them by themselves when I work out. I wear underwear underneath them, though; the feel of compression shorts against my crotch is an extremely strange feeling.

I feel the compression shorts make me work harder because my stomach hangs over my shorts. I can see all of my problem areas, and it makes me work harder.

I wear them alone also. But I do workout at home and not infront of other people. I think I would be too self concious to wear them without something over them out in public lol
