What is your favorite?
Why?
And which do you think it better for you?

My mom noticed I refused to touch the icecream she bought (I used to have 2-3 cups of it a NIGHT) so she bought me sherbet saying "it's better for you".

What do you think?

I personally love lime sherbet, and do believe it's a lot better for you than ice cream. I've always loved ice cream, especially during the summer months, so needed something cold to nibble on, lol. Also make fruit pops with fruit juices and keep those in the freezer for when I want a cool treat.

Check the nutritional information on the sherbert she purchased. Some ice creams/sherberts/etc aren't that horrible in calories, you just have to watch your portions. One thing that helps me is get the small ice cream cones and measure out the serving size and spoon that into my ice cream cone.

Dreyers makes some great "slow churned 1/2 fat" ice cream - I had the smore special edition and it was the best ice cream cone I've ever had. LOL With the cone my after dinner treat was 115 calories.

Or you could make your own ice cream.....

I love both!!!!!!!! I have been addicted to soft serve frozen yogurt lately!! The shop down the street usually serves nonfat and some times a no sugar added flavors. The nonfat usually has 100 calories per 4 oz. serving and the NSA is 80 calories per. 4 oz. serving! So yummy and low cal.! I LOVE it!

Sherbet is better for you fat-wise but it still has a lot of sugar. I love both and when trying to be healthy would buy sherbet instead, but now I've switched to natural fruit bars. 70-80 calories, half the sugar of ice cream AND sugar, etc. etc.

If you watch the calories & sugars, either one works. I tend to stick to frozen yogurt myself. Gives me that ice cream taste but without as much fat. And my kids can't tell the difference!

It's funny you asked this because I am currently eating something I made that to me is better than sherbert or ice cream. I take one cup of Diamond Breeze Almond Milk (Vanilla/ NO sugar added) 40 cal. Then I add 2 cups of crushed ice, one cup of fruit. I use the great value frozen mixed fruit (mango, strawberry, pineapple, peach) 70 cal ,.and use a stick blender to blend it. It makes a huge portion of frozen yumminess! I add a little bit of splenda or sugar free vanilla syrup (davinci) Anyway, it's not the answer exactly you were aiming for..but it's really a good low cal alternative.
When I did want ice cream I bought Blue Bunny NO sugar added MInt Chocolate chip. It's good..but you have to make sure you measure out that 1/2 cup. I think I like my creation because it's a filling serving but very low cal.

I agree. Both are good but, frozen yogurt holds a special place in my heart.
