It has to be "hosted" on a website first
Then, you load the URL of the photo into your post with image tags before and after. So, what you would put in the post would look like this... img /img but you have to put brackets [ ] before and after the img tags. Sorry. I tried to do it like it really should like but it wouldn't show because it was reading it as an image. the

the beginning tag should look like this
[ img ] and the ending tag like this [ /img ] but there should be no spaces. i had to put the spaces in there to get it to show up.

It didn't work because you are using the link to the WHOLE page instead of just to the photo. You can't put a page link in img tags. YOu have to know the URL of the photo/graphic/whatever just for it or it won't work

Ok.
Click "quote" on this very post, ok, and see how the img tags look like that I had to use to get this graphic to show up.

okay-- now what if I upload a picture to, say, Walmart.com and have it there in a photo album-- would that be what you initally referred to as being on a website?

That is a GREAT way to demo the posting! Thanks! Now for part two (I'm also a tech dummy in this regard)... what do you mean by "hosting" the picture???
Thanks in advance!

LOL! Sorry ... Hey ... you have a gorgeous family! I am a homeschooling mom, too, but just have 2 girls and I'm almost done. Maybe I can help since I think I figured it out ... but I'm not sure. Go to the picture you want at the walmart site (and actually open the picture from the thumbnail), right click on it and then click on "properties." Copy the whole image location. http://images.photos.walmart.com/232323232%7Ffp43236%3Enu%3D3232%3E9%3C2%3E2%3C6%3E23239%3C23%3B7%3A32ot1lsi Then put the bracket & img thingies on either side of that url without spaces between. Let me see if this actually does work! LOL Here goes.... Yep. Hope that helps ... if not, keep asking!

Sorry guys--was taking my usual Sunday afternoon nap.
Did you figure it all out? "Hosting" means someplace on the internet where the photo is stored--be it Walmart, photobucket, etc.--some website where the photo "lives" so to speak. "When I ride, I am no longer chained to the earth. When I ride, I become Peter Pan — I really can fly."~unknown

Okay - you might be able to see that it is not going well!!! So I have loaded a photo onto Photobucket, and now I have a list of four codes... E-mail & IM, Direct Link, HTML, and IMG Code - am I doing something wrong? Don't I just do this (see below) and then insert the link in the centre? Or without spaces? Thanks! Ok--close--leave the img tags but take out everything in between BUT this http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/dd333/AJCM80/BW.jpg That's the actual URL of the photo--that will make it come up.
