I'm pretty sure we all know that entering recipes by hand is pain. I'm wondering if MFP is or would consider teaming up or brainstorming with pepperplate.com who's website (not sure what the right terminology here would be) decodes(?) partnered recipe sites just by pasting the recipe link (ie, Martha Stewart Everyday, Food Network) and whatever isn't a partnered site is copy and pasted by longhand (still faster than searching through a database). I'm pretty sure these sites have the calories included in the meal. I'm sure it wouldn't be a glass slipper solution but I think it would be really great if MFP had a similar way to enter recipes in, especially since so many seem to come from the internet these days.

I hope this makes sense. :)

I had the same question/thought. Even if you could pull the quantities and ingredients from a recipe and do a best guess match it would be a lot quicker than entering each ingredient individually. I really like pepperplate.com for their nice recipe interface which is the exact same reason I like MyFitnessPal so well. You should both do what you do best!

I agree that this would be great. I have recently started using pepperplate and My Fitness Pal. I think both are great and combining them would make it so much easier to eat healthy because I would not have to add in my own recipes ingredient by ingredient into My Fitness Pal.

I completely agree. Some of the recipes are already in the database I'm sure by other users, but having them pair up would be wonderful!

I am right there with you. There should be an easier way to enter recipes. Even if it started as a link to the recipe and you entered in just the values calories, fat, carbs, protein, fiber and the servings. That would be so much better than trying to look at 10 entries of red pepper to see which one gave you a serving size of 1 whole. Man! It literally took me 30 min to add 1 recipe. I don't see that as a good solution going forward.

At the VERY least, I wish we could EASILY edit the quantity of an ingredient in the recipes (instead of deleting the ingredient and then re-adding it).
