Just remember that Freedieting doesn't subtract out your defecit. So make sure that you subtract out your 500 calories to make up that defecit

Thanks for that info..I decided to start this on Monday. Now when you say deficit..is that the excercise calories or just a default of 500 automatically?

@BJC78 I like the 30DS but couldn't get past level 2 I think I got bored so I just went and bought R30 and I like this one a lot more, however Week 2 is tough!

I decided to stick to Week 1 (R30) for a few more days and even contemplated going back to 30DS to do level 2 then move on to Week 2 in R30. (Decisions Decisions :) )

MFP subtracts 500 calories from you maintainence calories per day per pound you want to lose so 500 calories subtracted from your maintainence 7 days a week equals one pound lost per week. Now if you exercise, because there is already a deficit subtracted you can eat those calories back. Freedieting, doesn't subtract your deficit for weight loss out, so it is DEPENDENT upon you to exercise or you will just maintain and it doesn't require that you eat your exercise calories back like MFP does.

so you can do mfp's style

Pre subtracted deficit for weight loss, you will lose whether or not you exercise, if you do exercise you must eat your exercise calories back (debatable by some)

Or Freedietings style

Gives you your maintainence calories, and allows you to determine your deficit, if you dont' work out, you maintain, if you work out and burn 500 calories then you will lose. You do not have to eat these calories back, because if you did it would bring you back up to maintainence causing you to not lose.
