When I go into my foods it says I can edit or delete my food, but when I click on the food it only comes up with the edit option!
It's driving my crazy not being able to get rid of food I've only had once or twice and will never use again. :-(

After ever, single food entry there is a little red dot with a white minus sign. Click that and it will go away. *^_^*

Trust me, I feel your Pain, I really really do!!sad I have this dream everytime I enter my food diary....... I'm hoping one day it comes true and we actually wake up one day and have that option. love
Mike's shared at some point it is in the works though I'm sure He has quite a long list as there are many things for him to keep up with on the site.

I know he listens to us though!flowerforyou

When I click on food, then go to the meal I want to add a food too, at the bottom below all the recent food items that I can check them as an option for adding to diary, at the bottom is a delete from list button.

If it's a food item for a specific meal such as breakfast at the far right of each line should be a red button, that will delete that food item from todays diary.

In the My Foods tab, select (click) the food you want to delete. In the upper right corner, both an Edit button and a Delete button will appear. Click the Delete button.

There are no check boxes or red minus signs under My Foods as in certain other areas of the interface. The interface is not terribly consistent throughout.

HTH.

Click the red button at the end of the food entry.

This option merely moves it to 'Recent Food' section, it doesn't actually delete it entirely.

I know how to delete it from that days entry, but they are all left on my list of foods when I go into my foods, even though it says I can edit or delete that food.
It brings up an option to edit only.

Yup & Nope!tongue The only crazy we're both going is being unable to remove the foods we no longer use in our personal foods data base!

Yea, I totally get what you're referring too. Mine's so full it's crazy, it's hard to find everyday items I use because of all the mess of foods from long ago.

Hang in there! I have faith in Mike.drinker tongue

Totally agree....this is obsurd and easy to fix on the programming side....some can be deleted and some cannot. Please fix this issue. noway

It does seem a little absurd. Some foods under "My Foods" may be deleted (have the delete button) and others may not. I wonder if there is some reason we haven't figured out why only some foods may be deleted.

As to the absurdities in My Fitness Pal, there are several. Nonetheless, it still works better than any internet site for tracking this stuff that I've tried. I tried some that charged money, yet My Fitness Pal still worked better.

I can't Delete any of the My Foods either - no button, no option.

SO I Edit a My Foods entry that I don't want to use anymore and change it to something I do want to use. I hardly ever make brand new ones, I just change ones I want to get rid of to something else.

I have the ability to EDIT the foods on my list, but there is no button to DELETE food items. This seems like a basic oversight and one that would be easy to correct.

The ones you can delete are the ones you created. The ones you can't delete are other user created.
It's really annoying, I know.

I have plenty on my list I want to remove, will never use them again, but I"m stuck with them.
Hopefully they will eventually fix this. Fingers crossed.
It's not like we want to remove them from the data base completely , just from our list.

That only works for the 'most used 'list from what I can tell. The op is trying to remove form the 'my foods' list.
In my experience it can't be done for the ones from other users. You can only delete the ones you created.
If you've worked out how to delete from the 'my foods ' list please let us know, it would be fantastic.
I have a lot of junk on there I have to scroll through that I would never use because of my deciding to help out with spelling errors a while ago.
Thanks,

Hi Folks,

Items in "my foods" can currently only be deleted if they are custom foods you created, that you did not share with the public database.

Foods you have shared, or foods appearing in My Foods as a result of having edited pre-existing public foods, are not deletable at the present time.

We're aware of the requests to be able to modify the my foods list with more control, and are looking into ways to make this possible in future updates to the site.

There seems to be a limit of around 50 in the My Foods list. I had renamed some of the ones in the main database and now I want to remove them. I cannot. Is it possible for you guys to add 2 options
1. "Revert to Default Name" which would allow the food to stay in the main database but be removed from My Foods list.
2. "Delete" for foods I have created myself and want to remove completely. If this upsets the integrity of my history then maybe you could either increase the allowable number of entries in My Foods, or create an archived foods list. and park my "deleted" foods in there.

Thanks

I have the same problem!

We will definitely look into your suggestions for a future update. Thanks for the great suggestions.

I have been trying to figure out the same thing. Want to get rid of the not healthy foods that i just slipped and ate once. angry Trying to make myself only eat the healthy stuff so don't want to be reminded of my mistakes by seeing those food in my list.

You can do it from the Android app. Menu>>Edit foods& Exercises>>My foods>> and then you will be able to delete.
