I read an earlier post about the apple cider vinegar and just added it to my diet a couple of days ago - hard to swallow the first time - it is certainly an aquired taste...lol. I will look forward to seeing what others post about it. I certainly liked what I read on the internet!!

Honey can help allergies and apple cider vinegar is pretty great with REALLY bad coughs. In fact if you mix 1 tbs of honey with 2 tbs apple cider vinegar you will stop coughing in about 5 minutes.

I think it's a great idea! Especially for this time of year! Keep us updated :)

how much apple cider vinegar and honey do you eat, do you mix it or eat them individual?

I dunno bout those. My bro used to drink a shot of vinegar all the time before...He did lose weight, but I dunno how much of a role that played.

I have heard good things about bee pollen capsules.

Oh! This was referring to illness/allergies?

I have heard that local raw honey helps with allergies. Vinegar is supposed to help with acid reflux. Dunno anything else about all of that though.

It is true that honey helps with allergies but it has to be local honey, made from around you if you want allergie help.

I will keep everyone updated. I'm taking Apple Cider Vinegar to help with weight loss and blood pressure.
I take two tables spoons of apple cider vinegar and one of raw honey.

Also, I have a child with allergies and eczema that I'm hoping will help him too.

This is from WebMD:

Scientific Evidence of Apple Cider Vinegar Benefits

But there are some medical uses of vinegar that do have promise, at least according to a few studies. Here's a rundown of some more recent ones.

Diabetes. The effect of vinegar on blood sugar levels is perhaps the best-researched and the most promising of apple cider vinegar's possible health benefits. Several studies have found that vinegar may help lower glucose levels. For instance, one 2007 study of 11 people with type 2 diabetes found that taking two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar before bed lowered glucose levels in the morning by 4%-6%.
High cholesterol . A 2006 study showed evidence that vinegar could lower cholesterol. However, the study was done in rats, so it's too early to know how it might work in people.
Blood pressureand heart health. Another study in rats found that vinegar could lower high blood pressure. A large observational study also found that people who ate oil and vinegar dressing on salads five to six times a week had lower rates of heart disease than people who didn't. However, it's far from clear that the vinegar was the reason.
Cancer . A few laboratory studies have found that vinegar may be able to kill cancer cells or slow their growth. Observational studies of people have been confusing. One found that eating vinegar was associated with a decreased risk of esophageal cancer. Another associated it with an increased risk of bladder cancer.
Weight Loss . For thousands of years, vinegar has been used for weight loss. White vinegar (and perhaps other types) might help people feel full. A 2005 study of 12 people found that those who ate a piece of bread along with small amounts of white vinegar felt fuller and more satisfied than those who just ate the bread.

How much are you taking?

I am taking apple cider vinegar too. It has to be the raw, unpasteurized kind, with "the mother," which is the thick sediment in there. From what I read, it works best for weight loss when taken (2 tbsp if you can handle it) before a meal. It messes with my stomach slightly after taking it. I haven't noticed results yet, and even if I do, I won't really know if it is from that or my lifestyle changes, but either way, it is awesome for so many things health-wise, and even is said to improve the skin. One tip: don't take it a half hour before or after brushing your teeth, because the acids will eat away at your enamel.

I know, just forgot to include that piece of information :) Although for coughs it doesn't matter, but natural honey definitely tastes better!

I took apple cider vinegar for about a month.

IMPORTANT- DO NOT DRINK STRAIGHT UNDILUTED VINEGAR! it's waaaay too acidic and will damage your esophagus.

You can get the same benefits by mixing a small amount (1 tsp-1tbsp) into a large bottle of water. Raw honey can be added in the same proportions to mask the acidic "bite". Use local honey and get the added allergy-lessening benefit.

I didn't really notice a difference in appetite with the vinegar, but it absolutely stopped the heartburn I'd been getting almost every night. Turns out that a lot of the time, you get heartburn because your stomach has too LITTLE acid in it to break down the food, so an acid like vinegar gives it a boost.

I love it!!!!1

MMMMMMMMMMMMMM, I love Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar. Soak some cucumbers, onions and bell peppers in it - mmmmmmmmm

Please be sure you are using the raw, unfiltered ACV with the mother. Regular old Apple Cider Vinegar is not healthy.......

Raw local honey does help my allergies. I am lucky that I know a beekeeper because it won't work unless it is local!

I tried apple cider vinegar about 6 years ago when I first started gaining weight. I took it for 3 months and it did absolutely nothing.

Later, I read numerous reports that there is no real evidence that it helps aid with weight loss.

My son has allergies to outside and eczema. The honey I get comes from the local area. Should I give it to him? If so do I just give him a tea spoon or something? Thanks

holistic practitioners have seen a drop in symptoms as a result of prescribing it to patients. To try it out, eat one teaspoon daily of raw, unfiltered honey made within 20 miles of your home.

Exposing him to a small amount of the allergins will help his body build up a resistance to it.

Here is a site that has more uses for raw honey........

Ditto Grokette. I have pollen allergies and take a teaspoon a day of local raw honey. It doesn't completely make all of the symptoms disappear but it does help.
