There have to be others who want this. I would LOVE a widget to put on my home screen that shows calories left for the day and calories burned as well. It wouldn't have to be very large or complicated, but it would certainly encourage me to log my food if every time I looked at my home screen I saw a number sitting there. Can anyone at least tell us if this is in consideration?

That's not a widget, Poehlerbear1983, that's just an app.

The OP and others are looking for something that can be put on their homescreen (or other screens) so that it's more visible.

Add me to the number of people interested in this. I love my Android phone and would love the kick in the pants of seeing my calorie count readily visible.

I would love a widget, wouldn't even care if it had calories burned as long as it had what was left.

I so agree this would be so nice. I wouldnt have to keep logging in just to see what i have left. I am like obsessed with myfitnesspal. I log all of my food every day. Sometimes i have to wait to log till after i get home. But i have to log in. Having the widget would be soooo great. I hope someone can take care of our needs.

Add me to the list of people that would love this. So much easier to just look at my home screen and see how I stand.

chicknlil is right, I have the app.. I just would like a widget to accompany it.. I found myfitnesspal.com because of that app actually lol.. fatsecret.com has a widget for their app, but I like myfitnesspal.com much better for pretty much everything else.

I'm also using cardio trainer from worksmartlabs.com and they have a widget for their food tracker calorific, but calorific isn't specific enough for me, it makes it easy for me to slack off b/c you use estimates, about 50 calories or 100 and etc... and I find myself not wanting to count a 120 item as a 150 but also feel like I'm cheating if I mark it as 100 lol... I've tried all the free things on the android market actually, but I like the myfitnesspal system.. all I can see me missing is the silly widget to make me log in more lol happy

Glad to see I'm not alone in wanting a widget for my homescreen wink

I would love a widget also! I love this site - it has really helped me keep my dieting and exercise on track. It's always up on my computer and I use the app many times a day. Especially the food scanner - that's great!

I would love to see one too. I have a friend who does Linux programming, Ill see if he can come up with something. I am not sure how good he is on programs for mobile devices though, so i cannot expect much.

I would love a widget that says (either vocally or just written) "Hey you!! You are close to going over calories for the day! Either workout or quit eating!"

But that is just me....

I would love one. Also wished the droid app had the option to do message boards too instead of having on to the internet on my phone. Don't have internet at home right now.

My sentiments entirely! It's really frustrating when logging meals/exercises in and seeing friends responding to threads, then having to access MFP separately via my browser to see what the threads were about! I'm currently on my pc, but with my Android it's great to do when out and about, please and thank you! :-))

I definitely have to echo everyones comments.

Swapped from an iPhone to an Android today. Loving the functionality of the Android, the widgets are fantastic!
Would be awesome to have a MFP widget that shows calories remaining, and maybe exercise minutes/calories for week or something?? Would be great motivation to see it every time I unlock my phone :)

To be honest, I downloaded some other fitness app today that had a widget just to try... I lasted about 10 minutes before I deleted it...
