Hi,

First let me say that I love the MyFitnessPal iPhone app. It's really helped me to meet my weight goals.

But I wanted to point out one bug in the app: Because I live in Europe and am using an iPhone, the weight tracking function doesn't recognize the comma as a decimal point. What this means is that my weight is only taken in whole numbers, which is nowhere near as accurate, especially with a kilogram being 2.2 lbs.

To replicate: Use a European national setting in your iPhone like German, Italian or Czech. Then go to Progress -> Record Today's Weight. There is a comma instead of a decimal point in the numeric keypad. Try to enter a value that includes this comma. Then you will see that the decimal value is ignored.

I hope this little bug report will help you to improve the app and look forward to your continued success!

Thanks for the suggestion - this should be fixed in our next update which we hope to release shortly, so keep an eye out for it on your iPhone. Hope that helps!

Thanks Mike! I just installed the update and I'm happy to report that it works fine now. And thanks for such a great app! I've lost almost 20lbs (9 kilos) since I've started using it. Consider me a happy customer!

In the latest iPhone version it still seems to happen for adding new foods to the database for nutritional values?
New foods I added were just chopped after the comma, not even rounded. This sounds like the same bug.

Some more testing of adding foods confirmed this indeed issue. The work-around is to use the website in Safari to add values with decimals, but this defeats the purpose of the App (especially if you want to associate a barcode to the product). As a student graduating on CS I wish I could help fixing the code.

Hi Mike, Was this update already released as I still have this problem with weight tracking? I am constantly logged at 2lbs above my actual loss.

Thanks.

I am using the iphone app, and still when I enter a comma, the number is just truncated...
Any way to fix this? In this century? :)

Thank you!

And by the way, great app!!!

Hi,

Can you let us know which Region Format is selected in your iPhone's Settings > General > International settings, and which version of our App ( More > About Us) and iOS (Settings > General > About) you're using?

Our upcoming update to the iOS app has some fixes in place for various issues with comma separators, but I'd like to make sure we have the specific details of your issue on file in case we need to make additional changes to support you.
