So I've started the thirty day shred (on day 3 but I've done it 4 times already) and I've been really cutting those calories (within a safe range though!) and I noticed today that the chunks of fat surrounding my legs, arms, and stomach are looser than they were a few days ago. They jiggle like jello. They used to be hard chunks.

My husband claims it's because the fat is "melting", but I just want to be sure.

Well - the more you burn off, the less dense the area becomes and the more space what's left has to move around.
If that makes sense??

when you lose fat you dont lose skin so your skin will be looser it will slowly start to tighten up because your skin stretches your body is a pretty amazing thing it heals itself but it takes time to do so

Your skin will soon tighten up, if not try taking some collagen capsules.

It's kinda like putting 7lbs of potatoes in a 10 lb bag.... it's loose. If the wiggle and jiggle gets to you, invest in some light support undergarments. I found some that go from waist to knees that really help with the upper thigh jiggle.

Oh thank God! I've noticed it too, but I thought I was losing my mind! I looked in the mirror before bedtime while I was changing earlier in the week and I just about had a fit -- my stomach was so jiggily (I'd rub my hand across it and there were waves!). Usually it's relatively tight (it's back to normal today), but this was so freaky. I started 30DS on Monday, so I think those ab scissor things are working!

ahh, to be 21 again....

anyway, yes, everyone is correct. It takes far longer for skin to tighten up than to lose fat (if you do it right). In fact this is one of the reasons many of us preach slow, steady weight loss. It gives your skin time to naturally "snap back". Course the younger you are, the more snap in your skin, so be happy that you're 21, for many of us, that skin will never be tight and taunt again, no matter how hard we work (without surgery that is).

FYI, make sure your nutrition includes plenty of healthy fats and all different kinds of veggies, because vitamins and the fat that transports them is vital to keeping healthy skin (and nails, and hair, and immune function...etc).
