FYI? It really isn't good not to go every day. Take it from someone that has IBS. Unfortunately I also got colon cancer at 42 and I think my bowel problems. I would say a stool softner and plenty of water. Lots of fiber too if you are usually like this. Protein tends to bind. Cheese also. Good luck and hope something works.

Yes, although the topic is humorous it is a serious situation. My grandmother died of colon cancer. I drink "Super Dieter's Tea" a couple times a week to help keep me regular.

I have some of that tea in my cupboard, haven't tried it yet...now I know what to expect, I guess. laugh

I tried this reflexology and I'm already feeling movements! Maybe I should not have done that at 10AM at the office. :-/

Oh well, it appears to be working!

Hahaha! I recommend Senna laxatives. They're going to give that gentle push instead of forcing you in a ****-storm of sweat. (No pun intended)

Enemas always work for me. Fleet will have you cleared out and you'll only have to invest 20 - 45 minutes of your time. Once you're done with the enema, you're done. No lingering effects like with a laxative.

Good luck!

Reflexology! Works like a charm. Trust me, it's always helped with my kids. :)

What do i do?
You can google a reflexology map of the foot. Find the point, usually the middle arch of the foot and rub that spot. You don't have to pin point the area just inch your thumb in a clockwise manner in that area. If you find a point that "hurts" to press on then you've found your problem area, or blockage. Work on that spot. You can repeat as often as you want. This will work. I use it on my kids all the time and the baby sometimes poops right away. Message me if you need more help.

I brefly reviewed your diary and I can tell that you have not logged any vegetables, fruits, or healthy fiber in a long time. Your diet is mostly fast and processed food, all the time. That is the reason of your problems!!!!

And if you have been eating fruits and vegetables, then you forgot to log them.

Your body is telling you: " If you don't feed me well, I will keep all this junk inside and you will not POOP!!angry

You can take a laxative right now but if you continue eating that way you will not poop normaly EVER! In addition, you colon will suffer, as much as your diet.

We are here to support each other but also to be honest. You can control your calories all you want, and probably loose weight in the process, but eating healthy is as much or more important that shedding pounds. If we eat healthy, the lbs will eventually come off and our bodies will be greateful for it.

Get some prunes and prune juice and drinks lots of water.

Eat oatmeal and apples or pears

Laxative teas are gentle help, but I really think you need to make sure you eat lots of fiber. I eat an average of 35 grams of fiber a day- (and to quote Liz Lemon for any 30 Rock fans out there) I'm BMing like a rock star.

whats BMing mean?

there are tons of food/drink options. i would stick with those.

laxatives really aren't the best alternative. noway

considering i have ibs-constipation....... i go through this quite often sad
but as long as i have 20-25 grams of fiber a day and lots of water i'm a happy camper.
but for those roller coaster moments (stress, holidays, travel)

raisin brain, flaxseed, oranges, prunes, green tea/black tea, apples, apple juice/applesauce, beans (black preferably), mangos, oatmeal, benefiber drink packets (love these for when i'm traveling), fruits and veggies!

also, something i tried recently when i was trying to get over eating at thanksgiving was....
hot water and 2 TBS of honey. it worked very well for me.

good luck and remember to drink lots of water and get in your daily amount of fiber flowerforyou
oh yes and beware of starches, sugars and cheese!

Question - have you just not pooped in 4 days and feel ok, or do you feel like you NEED to poop and can't? If it's the second one, take a laxative.

I have periods where I go "4 days on, 4 days off" as everyone in my family calls it. I won't poop for 4 days, but I don't feel like I need to either. Then after the 4 days, I just go and go and go all the time. It's normal for me. My body is crazy, I know lol.

I'm pretty much like this too! I feel so relieved because I'm like OMG I cleaned myself out....then another few days go by with nothing....it is really disappointing. I've never been regula0r (except one time when I really took up smoking and smoked a cigarette every morning getting ready for school-I would smoke it while pooping).

And question for those who have gas.....when I am slightly regular, going for a few days in a row (or even if I just go one day) I am SOOOOO GASEY before. Is that a sign of a medical problem?

Weirdly enough, if I go out to happy hour and ONE BEER, I'm in the bathroom all night. I do this on purpose sometimes laugh

Eat fruit like an apple or grapes anything that is a fruit but mainly apples or an grapes now if you don't wanna be on the toilet all night i suggest you to eat 1 or 2 apples or 1 batch of grapes. Then drink one bottle of water after that you would want to sit in one spot so it can adjust inside your body then an hour later or 30 minutes you will be on the toilet and if you keep this up you won't have to be worried about not being able to go to the bathroom

I got one word for you, smoothmove! It is a tea that is in the health food section of most grocery stores. Drink it at night and in the morning you will be thanking smoothmove tea! Another tea that works well is called dieters tea. Both teas have mild laxatives in them. The best part is that they won't cramp you up and it is caffeine free so if you drink it at night you will still be able to sleep. Good luck!

A tall glass of prune juice.

Miralax is pretty great; it's not a stimulant laxative and has no real side effects.
