I love tracking my food and exercise on this app when I need to reset. I decided to start tracking iron as we are considering another baby. I was very surprised to see you recommended 100 mg of iron per day for me. I have the highest need for iron of any group of people right now at 27 mg, according to the CDC

I'm getting about 50 mg a day mostly from plants and whole grains, according to your calculator.

The risks of overconsumption of iron are real. I'd hate to think someone might go out and start supplementing because of your website's recommendation.

Please consider checking the programming for iron.

I was also initially confused by this, but then I realized that it's not measuring mg, it's measuring % of daily value (same with calcium). So it's not 100 mg but measuring what % of your iron needs you've met that day.

If I put in a multivitamin with 7.5 mg of iron into my food diary, it says I've met 100% of my daily iron needs. So it appears to me that the program is actually underestimating the daily iron needs of women since that's the recommended amount for men.
