Love the tat and it seems to me we've seen success and stalls with both shots and drops I dont personally think it's that Im wondering if maybe you are more sensitive to some of the fruits or carbs (melbas or grissini) than others. I know some on here couldn't eat certain apples and so on or you were like me and stalled because either you grew immune or didn't eat enough fats in your load days (I think that was my problem as i actually lost on my load days), it could be a number of things but cycling off and giving your body a break is a good idea maybe someone else could jump in here and give their opinion as well because they may know by experience but when are you planning on starting the drops? It may be a good idea to go onto phase 3 for 3 wks then jump back on the drops just in case it was an immunity thing. Good luck we're here for ya!

Well, only down .2 in two days... buuuuuut, thanks to all the ones who started it, TOM has arrived, so I'm not too concerned. Due to this I decided to phase off 2 days early. I took my last dose of drops at 6 a.m. before I came home from work. I'll do my low cal for today and tomorrow, then start adding stuff in on Monday. *crosses fingers*

3 weeks of maintenance, here I come! (oh, and I celebrated by going out and buying a sexy red dress for my Atlanta trip! It looks awesome, would NOT have looked awesome earlier this year!)

Ugh! sick Ok is it possible to overdose on eggs? 5 eggs in a day can't be a good thing right? I was just real blah today and almost cheated and got mexican food because nothing else sounded good but instead made a few more eggs...I know they are allowed but that many cant be good in one day right? I feel like I did something bad ohwell Any thoughts?

For Hair loss my sis takes: biotin, L-cysteine, thymus, and MSM 1500 - two each daily (I have no idea what they are all for but they are all in common looking vitamin bottles) and she feels like it really makes a difference.

I can totally see chinese food made in America being unfriendly to our eating plan. Way too many refined carbs, sodium and sugar.

tooki - I have never tried injections but have had great results with homeopathic drops.

azmom - regarding eggs - I do not think you can OD on 5 eggs. I have actually done 'protein correction days' (steak, chicken, eggs) and eaten 14 eggs in one day (instead of eating a big steak at dinner) to get back withing goal weight in phase 3.

UPDATE
R2P2D1 - 165
R2P2D3 VLCD1 - 173.4!!! Now that's loading!
R2P2D4 VLCD2 - 169.4 - on my way to day one weight!!!
R2P2D5 VLCD3 - 166.0 - one more pound to day one weight!
R2P2D6 VLCD4 - 163.0 - YAY - 2lbs below day one and 3.8 to go for NEW progress!
R2P2D7 VLCD5 - 160.4 - woo hoo - only 1.2 to go for NEW progress!
R2P2D8 VLCD7 - 159.0 - YYYYYEEEAAAAAHHHH!!!! NEW Progress!!!

It's all downhill from here. Only 10 lbs to go to hit my bronze medal (149)!!! (Gold is 142)
Hoping to hit 149 in 12-14 days.
We do have a dinner next Saturday - a big fancy tooo-doo at which I will eat the 'gourmet' dinner but refrain from the appetizers, snacks and drinks. It will be day 12 of my phase 2 but it is a once a year charity event and we rarely get to get gussied up in formal attire.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

So despite eating out twice yesterday I'm down .8 pounds!

Now mind you, I was careful what I ate.

For brunch I had egg beaters, onion, and green pepper omelet wrap. And some fruit.

For dinner I had chicken in some penne pasta with seasonal veggies from Seasons 52 where my boyfriend took me. :) I'm excited that I was able to have a great day out with friends and my boyfriend and still lose the weight.

I do think I've picked up a bug though, I've had some... digestive issues the last few days, which is usually how my body deals with viruses and bugs, it gets rid of them pretty quickly so I don't get full blown sick.

Woot! Down 1.5 lbs. today. It took until yesterday for me to get back to my pre-gorging weight. So glad to see myself below that since I'm on day four of my VLCD. Day six all together taking HHCG. I was starting to worry a little bit.

I'm having a hard time staying within 500 calories. I just can't imagine eating anyting less than what I am right now. I have 1/2 grapefruit for breakfast. Lunch consists of usually 100g chicken or beef and I have a tomato as my vegetable. I've been making salsa and putting it on top. Only using spices, lemon juice and tomatoes. Or I eat spinach.

Snack is an apple and dinner is some variation of lunch. Oh and the melba toast with each meal. Heh, I finally found it. Apparently, my grocery store was completely out when I went looking but has restocked now.

Anyway, It still brings me up into the 620 to 680 range.

Today I'm having chicken tacos for lunch. My taco being romain lettuce leaves.

So, off to another day. Congrats to everyone for your losses.

So ... I've planned to start HCG on October 2 (this coming Saturday). I met with our nurse practitioner at work (she's been a nurse for 30+ years) and she said she thought it would be fine to do for 23 days at a time, only. And she wants to see me once a week. She even gave me some little sticks to detect if my body is in ketosis. And some little pee cups, LOL

I've been open with a select few friends about my plan. Last night, I went with my boyfriend (who I've told about HCG) and a friend (who I've also told about HCG) to visit a recent acquaintance to play Pictionary (we're so boring, lol). Well ... my friend had told this girl about my HCG plans. She's going to school to be a dietitian. Midway through our night, she started talking to me about eating and exercise. We talked about how I've been stuck, and she suggested looking at my carbohydrates. She's a diabetic, so she has lots of experience counting carbs. She asked me to go through a typical day of food for me... she added up the carbs and told me I was having too many. She suggested that I needed to eat half of my morning yogurt instead of the whole thing, along with half of my morning bagel. Really?

She then started telling me about her best friend who is a fad dieter. She tried the HCG diet, lost 20 pounds in one week, her hair started falling out, she completed the cycle and ended up gaining 50 pounds! She said she followed the plan and didn't eat junk after she was done.

She told me her friend is having lots of side effects from the HCG and the 500-cal diet. *sigh*

This turned into a big discussion. My acquaintance, her husband and my friend all started asking me questions. It was like an interrogation. Have you tried eating more? Eating less? Switching up your exercise? Yes, yes and YES. I've done my research, too! But, they acted like they didn't believe me. Of course, they ended the conversation with ... "We just want you to be safe and not harm your body."

... then they went outside and smoked weed.

Hm.

I talked to my boyfriend about it at breakfast this morning. He'd witnessed the whole night. He said he understood where they were coming from, but he understood where I was coming from, too. He said if it works for me, that it would be fine ... but what if it doesn't? And what if it hurts me in the long run? He said that if I do it, I'm going to have to eat 2 x as clean afterward as I do now. But ... his suggestion was to exercise more. Harder. Longer. He says I need to push it to the next level ... but, I feel I have. I'm exhausted. There aren't enough hours in the day!

So ... I'm conflicted. And I cried last night - a combination of confusion and exhaustion.

I had planned to start this very soon ... now I'm not so sure. ohwell I want to break this plateau SO BAD. I'm tired of looking and feeling disgusting. But ... I'm also afraid of screwing up my body's chemistry and metabolism and such.

Sry guys, just needed to vent. And, I was hoping this would be the right place to get some understanding.

Leigh i am sort of in the same place as you. heard some people have reactions to it but others didnt. some say you are supposed to reset your metabolism but is it worth stopping the exercise? and what if you have a reaction? is it really safe? I am hypoglycemic and I dont want to become a diabetic which is a good possiblility if I dont watch what I am doing. your calorie count is so restricted and I burn close to 1000 a day with exercise already. it is hard to see only down a pound or two per wk when I am tracking and working out so hard! any thoughts?

To those of you thinking about this diet... I have not seen any side effects with myself, hair loss included. You can safely bring in only 500 calories a day, and NOT feel tired because the HCG is burning your stored fat for calories instead.

Leigh - I'm sorry your friend gained so much after the diet! But, look at what she said... she didn't eat junk until after she was done. That's the same way of thinking that gets us all in this mess in the first place! Eating junk. Period. This diet is a nice kick-start to weight loss, it motivates because of the speed. But it should also teach us disciplined eating, and change our thought process towards food.

Just because we have this way to lose weight still does NOT mean I can eat anything I want when I hit my target. It will not change the fact that the McD's shakes have 1500 calories and 150 grams of fat! It means to change your living style of eating. Eat healthy, eat clean, the way we were meant to eat all along! Sure, you can indulge in a dessert every once in awhile... but NOT every day.

Those that fail on this diet, or quickly gain weight afterwards have not learned this lesson. Find out what works with and against your body personally. Some can eat plenty of dairy, some cannot. Same with fruit. Or meats. Etc....

That being said, good luck with your weight loss journey, and we're all here to support you if you so choose!!!

leigh - love that your 'health conscious' friend was smoking weed! noway

leigh and annabellj - The only facts I can give you are my own. It has been great for me. I am 41, done having kids and have no health problems other than I was overweight. I run three days a week (one during low cal phase) and lift weights two days a week now. I love the diet and am 10 lbs away from a weight I NEVER thought I'd see. I have plenty of energy. Yeah, I'm cranky sometimes. Yeah, I have zits sometimes. Yeah, I get tired sometimes. Who doesn't. I don't believe for even one second that having a bad day or a zit is the fault of HCG. I have never felt or looked better in my life.

If you want encouragement, just ask - i've got it in spades!!!!

The thing about HCG is to get the weight off, and learn your body in the process. You learn what different foods do to your body. You learn this through the "weaning" phases 3 and 4, when you add in calories and different types of food.

Obviously your friend's friend didn't do those phases right, and if you don't, then yes, weight will come back. The same way as if you hit your goal weight the old fashioned way and go back to eating fast food and junk and not paying attention to your weight, you can gain it all back again.

HCG is about being honest with yourself and your body. She didn't gain 50 pounds overnight. She gained a few pounds here and some more here and there, and then suddenly "OMG HCG sucks I gained 50 pounds!!!"

Not how it happens. Look at the women (and men) on here on the maintenance phase between rounds. You are supposed to monitor your weight and make sure that you are only allowing a 2 pound fluctuation. If you're losing more than that, you're not eating enough. If you're gaining more than that, you're eating too much or you are eating foods your body doesn't like. Everyone is different; HCG is about learning what works for your body. Even in the low cal phase, some of us can eat certain things without an issue, and some can't. Some women can't even use their same shampoo without stalling themselves, many others have had no issues with their shampoos. It just depends on your personal body chemistry and metabolism.

leigh - You poor thing. It can be so hard when you don't have a local support network. But you do have one here. At one point or another, I think every single one of us has encountered opposition from our family or friends. I have only been straight with a few of my closer friends because I know how tabu this diet appears.

When I told my husband about this method, he knows well enough than to argue with me once I've made up my mind. But in truth, he expressed that he was very skeptical. He thought the VLCD was pretty extreme & didn't see how the hormones could have too much to do with loss when the typical pregnant woman GAINS. I put it on the table as, "You don't have to agree with the method, you don't even have to support it. But am I doing it and I'm asking you to respect my decision to do so by supporting ME. If I'm wrong, I'm not much further back than I was before. But...I am now down 29# and still moving down, only 17# to go! I will be at my ultimate goal weight (what I was at when he met me) before Halloween!

And now my husband is sold on the method. He sees how much I've lost, how easy it was for me & loves that I've started making health goals again, such as going back to the gym. He brags to his friends, "Have you seen her lately, she's lost like 30# and looks amazing!" So maybe after your significant other sees how well this works, he may jump on your support wagon too.

So my advice to you is to go with what you feel is right. Not right for them, not right by traditional standards...but what's right for YOU. You are the one who has to look in the mirror everyday and be unhappy with what you see. You are the one who feels the implications of having a body that isn't in the shape that you want it to be in. If you have done the research and feel this is something that will benefit you...tell the haters to ... well.. you know! lol

I'm on R1P2D8 of HCG and I'm extremely happy with the results so far. I've lost 9.5 lbs and 7 inches! I can fit back into my clothes without having to squeeze! Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say hi to all you HCG dieters out there and good luck!

Well, I'm done with the maintenance phase and in the midst of living life after HCG. I love HCG!!! I have been through my son's wedding/reception, a different son's graduation from Army bootcamp, and my awesome daughter has been here and is an amazing cook/baker/jam maker. I am staying stable with my weight. HCG really does RESET. I have never really had a metabolism to speak of until now. Loving it!

Good morning HCGers! I was so scarce this weekend but I'm all caught up reading your progress now so I feel fine.

After a few really bad "off phase 3" days, I seemed to have regained my equilibrium after one "honest" steak/protein day. I am again back to one pound over LDW - 242.4. Now granted, it's still 3 pounds more than I was a week ago (which was two pounds UNDER LDW, I liked that) but technically I'm right in the "pocket". I am still holding a bit of water so I'm doing one more steak day today. I'd LIKE to get back to 239.4 before I start loading on saturday. But if not, that's cool.

LOADING SATURDAY!!!! W00t! Time to knock out the next 25-35 pounds! This next round I'm setting my goal as .75 a day. I'm starting out without grissini/melba and I already KNOW which apples I cannot eat. I am positive that I'll avoid the "Great Stall" this time. No more 9 day stalls for me. I'm excited to be back to doing injections this time instead of the Rx HCG sublingually. It's more precise (and IMO more effective at curbing hunger especially in those early days) and that matters to me.

LOADING QUESTION:
Normally when I've loaded before it's been mostly stuff like ice cream, pizza, chips...junk. Despite that, my experiences in the past with loading is that I've never gained during loading the way I guess I should. Never more than a pound. THIS time, I don't really want to be eating JUNK. I've vowed (and some of you know this) that regardless of my weight or whether I'm on this diet or not, my JUNK days are OVER. So I won't be eating doritos or little debbies during my load days this time. ALSO many of you say to eat really fatty stuff during loading. That's cool. But like what? I've been eating so much fat during my phase 3 I can't imagine how to eat MORE of it.

What types of stuff did you guys eat on loading? Carbs definitely pack on pounds (of water) for me quickly but some here have said it's not carbs that matter much during load days but fat.

Thoughts?

When I loaded I ate eggs with cheese, hash browns, & bacon at breakfast, Chicken wings at lunch, and I went to Olive Garden and stuffed myself full on day one. On day two I had a left over Olive Garden for breakfast, a Philly cheese steak with fires and gravy for lunch, and the Chinese buffet for dinner. Then somewhere in there I still ate a pack of Reese Pieces, Gummy Bears, & M&M's. I gained 7 pounds!

Morning everyone. Well I'm down another pound this morning so yay for that but I'm starving. I was just fine through the weekend but for some reason I'm so hungry I can hardly stand it right now. I ate my usual 1/2 grapefruit for breakfast and am sitting here right now at work sipping on some hot Chai tea. I took my drops this morning too. I'm wondering if I should up my drops a little. I've been doing six drops, six times a day. That seems to work the best for me or at least it did. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
September 27, 2010 7:05 AM
Gorgeous - regarding sensible loading. My sis had a friend that did it perfectly if you ask me. She ate completely normally (healthy like she has learned to) EXCEPT she put 8 oz of heavy whipping cream into her morning protein shake. Talk about fat and calories! You wouldn't be uncomfortable, bloated or be taking in all the extra carbs that seem to attract us during loading phase. It makes total sense to me!!!

Photographer - AWESOME!!! You're in for the long haul now!! Behaving forever is harder than being strict for a month. Wishing you the very best with your new lifestyle!!!!

Kells - when I find myself hungry, I try to drink something. Water (blech), iced tea or coffee and alot of it, then wait to see if the feeling goes away. That usually does the trick for me (actually it always works).

UPDATE:

R2P2D1 - 165
R2P2D9 VLCD& - 158!!! Down 7 lbs on phase 2, and down 1.2 lbs from last dose weight.

Only 9 lbs to go to hit my bronze medal goal of 149!!! Hoping to see that in 15 days or so!!!

Oh - by the way - I changed my ticker every time I lost weight up to my all time low of 157.2 on Aug 22nd. I stopped changing it every day because then every time I lost 1/2 lbs people were congratulating me on losing the same 1/2 pound I had lost 2 days earlier.

So now I only change my ticker when it goes down and it hasnt since 8/22.

HOPEFULLY TOMORROW OR THE NEXT DAY I CAN CHANGE MY TICKER AGAIN!!!!

Mornin' y'all!flowerforyou

Glad to see everyone is doing well.glasses

I have had a tough weekend, still holding steady at 246.3, but I did gain almost 1.5 pounds this weekend, went and ran last night, and am back down. I am not hungry, but I was wondering something...huh

What kind of breakfasts did you eat on P3, I see a lot of egg dishes, but only have liquid eggs, can I still use those to make scrambled eggs, or just real eggs?? Sorry if this has already been asked, but this is Page 5...nowaylaugh
