TOPIC: FItbit sync problem

November 11, 2013 8:02 AM
Same for me, Food added at MFP shows in Fitbit Dashboard, but activity from Fitbit not showing at MFP. If I unlink and link then it syncs once but that is it.
November 11, 2013 8:08 AM
MFP is not getting any of my adjustments from either Fitbit or Digifit. My Fitbit account is getting the food data from MFP though. It has to be a problem on the MFP side
November 11, 2013 8:18 AM
Same as everyone else. MFP will sync food and activity to Fitbit but Fitbit won't sync back with activity adjustments to MFP. Just started yesterday and continuing today. Unlink only updated once for the day and that's it.
November 11, 2013 8:24 AM
Well Today is Monday Novemeber 11th and it isn't working for me today either, so I am going to assume it did not get fixed yesterday?

Same behavior for me. Seems like this is a reoccurring theme over the 1.5 years I have used fitbit and MFP. It had been more reliable these past 3-5 months, hoping the issue was finally resolved, but I guess not. Could someone explain to me if this is a fitbit issue or a MFP issue? Would be nice to know where we should be submitting our issues... Thanks.

I noted that Fitbit didn't sync with Map My Run for the last 2 days, either. I forced a sync over there and it updated, but makes me think that perhaps the problem is on Fitbit's side.

Looks like I have the same problem as others. (Became a problem yesterday.)

I unlinking/relinking Fitbit fixed my tracking for today but ***yesterday is still missing***.

Any ideas on how to get yesterday to sync?

(Food I enter in MFP has been properly linking back to Fitbit. It is just exercise that Fitbit exercise that is missing in MFP.)

Adding another user to this problem. MFP and FitBit didn't sync on Nov 10. I have unlinked and re-linked the accounts. Current FitBit information is showing up on MFP but not yesterday's (Nov 10). All food information is showing up on FitBit but nothing for MFP.

I emailed FitBit regarding this issue, and they sent the following response via email:

Hi Mary,

We're sorry to hear that your Fitbit and MyFitnessPal accounts aren't syncing.

We'd like you to re-link the two accounts by doing the following:

1. Sign into your Fitbit dashboard.
2. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
3. On the left side of your screen click "Applications."
4. Under MyFitnessPal, click "Revoke Access."
5. You can then re-link the two accounts by going to http://www.fitbit.com/apps/myfitnesspal.

After relinking, you can verify that your accounts are syncing by using one of the following data points:

1. On Fitbit you can check for your meal summary and logged activities from MFP.
2. On MyFitnessPal, go to "My Home," then "Check-In." You should see your weight, Fitbit Steps, and Fitbit Sleep Minutes.

At the moment, we don't have filed any issue to sync Fitbit with MyFitnessPal, but we'll make sure our team reviews it and make sure everything is properly working from our end.

Let us know if you have any questions and we'll be happy to help.

Sincerely,
Maria E and the Fitbit Team

On step #5 I just had to disconnect the Fitbit app as well from MFP, then reconnect it. Once I did that my exercise cals earned for today showed up, and it looks normal. So far. Not sure if this is a permanent fix or a temporary work-around, but thought I'd post this in case it helps someone having the same issue.

Was still having problems today. Tried this, working so far. We'll see for how long.

This works to get your two accounts synched again. I had the problem and it was resolved by following these simple instructions;

You can add me to the list. Its not just FitBit One users, I have 3 others in my Family and they are Flex users and none of them are syncing either.

Are you all fitbit one users? Have you tried to connect your fitbit and see if there is a firmware upgrade? I just checked mine by enabling negative adjustments and mine is syncing fine...but I'm a flex user and my firmware automatically updates through my phone app.

The fact that it's syncing with fitbit fine eliminate this being a firmware problem. This is a communication problem between 2 servers.

But I'm not having the issue...my firmware just updated a few days ago..I was just asking...

So did mine - and I haven't had any issues at all with my Flex. It seems there's something not quite right, but only with some users.

Yes, that's what's happened when I do it. At this point, I'm just basing my "net calorie equation" on the info in my FitBit app -- it's too much trouble to keep disconnecting/connecting -- even though I'm still inputting in MFP's food diary. It's at least a practical, albeit temporary, solution.
November 11, 2013 10:55 AM
I disconnected and reconnected the accounts - and it led to a temporary sync. Now it's not talking again - well, not talking to MFP. Fitbit is retrieving the MFP calorie data just fine.

Also, I could only get it to sync today's numbers during the temp connect above, and yesterday (11/10) just sat at a flat 0. So I ended up doing the calorie delta calculation manually and adding in the difference that way.

Hey Folks,

FitBit UPDATE
http://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/portal/articles/1359543--fitbit-syncing-delay-fixed---11-8-

11/11/13 2:22 PST - Fitbit and MyFitnessPal should now be syncing correctly. If you are still having trouble with data syncing for the past few days please add an Exercise to your Exercise Diary to force an Adjustment. You may need to do this on each day that is missing your adjustment. Once the adjustment appears you can delete the fake exercise.

If you continue to experience any issues you can email us here - http://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/portal/emails/new

Thanks to everyone for reporting the issue and for your patience while we worked to resolve it.

Respectfully,
Olivia
