TOPIC: FItbit sync problem

Fitbit & MFP are not syncing again. Yesterday I had to CONSTANTLY disconnect & re-connect just to get it to sync. Every time I wanted it to sync. Now I've just had to do it again cause it has not done it all day.

Any ETA on when this problem will go away? People had the problem a few days ago & that was fixed for them; then it seems those who were fine before that are now having the problem.

I can not spend all day doing this.

Same problem here. Thought it was me. I reloaded fitbit but no luck.

I was fine when others were having problems a few days ago. Then MFP said it was fixed..... that's when I started having problems. I can't keep linking & unlinking all day.

I just noticed that there's no Fitbit adjustment in my exercise log for today. Not that there will be an actual adjustment (I have negative adjustments disabled), but I like to look at it to see what MFP says my burn is compared to what Fitbit says it is.

Mine was last over an hour ago & that was only due to my unlinking & relinking the accounts.

yep, no fitbit sync today for me either. I think I'm going to wait until right before I fall asleep tonight then do my best to guesstimate my exercise calories and add it in for the day manually. Hopefully they get it fixed soon!

Add me to the list of people with Fitbit syncing problems. I have walked for almost two hours today and only that posted through MFP shows. Most frustrating that MFP is not giving me credit for the exercise!!!

Same here, I had to spitball my exercise calories.Just get it to agree roughly with the remaining calories from the ftibit dashboard.

I emailed FitBit regarding this issue, and they sent the following response via email:

Hi Mary,

We're sorry to hear that your Fitbit and MyFitnessPal accounts aren't syncing.

We'd like you to re-link the two accounts by doing the following:

1. Sign into your Fitbit dashboard.
2. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
3. On the left side of your screen click "Applications."
4. Under MyFitnessPal, click "Revoke Access."
5. You can then re-link the two accounts by going to

After relinking, you can verify that your accounts are syncing by using one of the following data points:

1. On Fitbit you can check for your meal summary and logged activities from MFP.
2. On MyFitnessPal, go to "My Home," then "Check-In." You should see your weight, Fitbit Steps, and Fitbit Sleep Minutes.

At the moment, we don't have filed any issue to sync Fitbit with MyFitnessPal, but we'll make sure our team reviews it and make sure everything is properly working from our end.

On step #5 I just had to disconnect the Fitbit app as well from MFP, then reconnect it. Once I did that my exercise cals earned for today showed up, and it looks normal. So far. Not sure if this is a permanent fix or a temporary work-around, but thought I'd post this in case it helps someone having the same issue.

OMG the generic 'it's YOUR fault' email.

Nevermind that I didn't even get an email response at all (despite sending it almost 24 hours ago) and that doing that only fixes it for that moment right then; not fixing it totally. Mine has not synced now since the last time I 'revoked access' and then gave it permission to relink. That was just under 4 hours ago.

I'm sick of one problem after another. Who they hell breaks these things?

Anyone who is having problems,

just unlink accounts (MFP & FitBit) and then relink them. It will sync over but only for that time between syncs. Everytime you need it to it again.

Till they fix it it's the only way & you will get your calorie adjustment then. No need to guess.

Pinkraynedrop is right! Their response email is fairly lame, and step #5 doesn't even really point you to the correct link.
And yes, since I unlinked and relinked them, I haven't earned a single new calorie even though I did an extra 5 flights of stairs and 700+ steps. Hopefully they have their developers working to FIX this one!! (But who knows...)

Appreciate the suggestions to link and unlink. Today's activity linked, but yesterday's still did not. Posting to continue the discussion and encourage MFP and FB to develop a solution. Thank you!

BTW I added my water on here & it went straight to Fitbit no problems.
