I think it's great that you've got a tab for the foods you've entered yourself. It certainly makes it a lot easier to find a very specific food out of a potentially huge list, especially since you've gone to the trouble of entering the data. But there's one BIG problem. Even though you can FIND the food you're looking for on that tab, there is no way ENTER the food into your log once you've found it. It almost completely defeats the purpose of being able to find the food you're looking for, well, being that I usually look for food so I can enter it into my log! ;)

Including a "Add Food" button would be a wonderful and welcome addition to the "My Foods" tab! Thanks! :D

in the mean time you can go to your food diary itself and pick a meal clicking "add food" and access the "my foods" tab there.. your choices are recent... frequent... meals.. my foods and recipes..

if you click the my foods tab you should see your list of foods with an open checkbox so you can tick which one to add to the diary (or more if you wanted multiple items)

Thanks Pandorian. Accessing "My Foods" via "Add Food" works great. Thanks much for your response! :)

It would definitely be nice to be able to to add foods the other way though, especially nice would be the ability to add a food you've just custom entered into "My Food." Sort of like MFP saying, "Oh, I see you've just entered a custom food. Would you like to add this food to one of your meals?"

Anyway, thanks again for steering me in the right direction. Cheers!

You do have that option. After you enter a food, at the bottom of the screen you're given the option to make the food public or keep it private, as well as the option to add your desired number of servings to your chosen meal. I use it all the time!

The food > recipes
page already has what I'm reading as the sought after feature. Sure wish it would be ported to the other pages such as my meals, my foods and even food > database it's a nuisance to search for the food you want, find out it IS in the database with accurate info and have to search for it all over again in food > food diary > pick a meal and click "add food" then searching for the food you just found at food > database.

Mouse over a recipe you've entered and 2 buttons appear for that recipe... add to diary and delete... click the add to diary button you get to pick which meal of your up to 6 a day you'll be adding to right from the food > recipes page rather than first picking which meal slot at food > food diary > pick a meal> click add food > activate the recipes tab and locate the recipe you wish to use to put a check box beside it and then click "add checked"

And yes right at the time you first create the food you can indeed pick to add it to your diary, but once it has been created you have to add to your diary only from the food > food diary > pick a meal > click add food > activate the "my foods" tab and find the food you want to use.

You're guys are quite right. :) What I was thinking of was creating a meal in My Meals. Apologies for the mix up.

Thanks again!
