It would be great if the MyFitnessPal included a barcode scanner that would auto download the nutrition facts for a food product. This is available for Calorie Counter, a food diary and exercise app that is similar to MyFitnessPal. I prefer the user interface of MyFitnessPal, but I would love to see a barcode scanner included with this app. Just a suggestion. Thank you!

I completely agree... along with a better sync engine. My sync for Android doesn't always work as I expect it to (today, nothing from the web synced to my phone)

yo dude - I agree. And please - lock in these two items:
-- total calorie daily allowance (this value keeps changing when I make the change on the android phone)
-- calories burned during exercise - this value should be tailored to the individual and not return to the program's standard.

Mike, First let me say that this site and app for Droid is fantastic. I have used other tools in the past, but this one is by far my favorite! happy Thank you for development and making it available for free. I too agree a bar code scanner would be a terrific enhancement for the Android App.

I don't think it should be necessary to create another barcode scanner for Android, but it'd be nice if the program API could hook into the barcode scanner that might already be installed

Everything about MyFitnessPal is great except for the lacking barcode scanner. It's enough to make me give up on the app completely! Any potential for developing one?

This is the one thing that would make it so much easier to input food. Please please please add! :)

count me in on wanting this feature.

I would also like a paid version with no ads. I hate it when waiting on the ads locks up the phone.

I completely agree about the barcode scanner! It would be way convinient for adding food items to your diary! BTW love the app and the website, don't know what I ever did without it! THANKSflowerforyou

I completely agree! I love the UI of MyFitnessPal so much better than Calorie Counter, but I'm going to end up going back to CC for the barcode scanner. With food items that have so many variations and brands (like the frozen meatballs I ate tonight), it makes finding and tracking a MILLION times easier! PLEASE add this feature!!

I have to say that I agree with a few people on here. I'm trialing this app for a week as I love the UI and the countdown and add up of calories allowed and calories burnt. The lack of the barcode scanner and the sync issues will probably drive me back to my old app. Which is a shame!! The community on this website seems so much more accessible and it really does have a lot of good things going for it!

I agree that a bar code scanner would enhance this app.

Agreed. I've been using this app and the calorie counter app this week as a trial to see which I like better. I much prefer the UI for myfitnesspal, but I would like an easier input option, such as a barcode scanner. Thank you so much for developing this site and this app. It beats the Livestrong Daily Plate hands down!!
