I think many people are. I used to be. The important thing is that you're on this site and trying to do something about it. It's very important to focus on what's positive in your life, rather than the negative. If you've started eating healthier or exercising, congratulate yourself and allow yourself to feel good about that. You're in a great place to get information, advice and support. Use it. I guarantee you aren't alone. There are thousands of people on this site, all of us started because we weren't happy with our weight. The cool thing is, many have succeeded in losing weight and getting healthier - you can too!

Yeah, sort of, because I still have the same low self esteem I had when I was fat. I have always been skinny, and only been fat recently after I had my son. But, the mentality from being fat has not disappeared and I now have a complex to go along with it.

No. I was depressed, but that was because of a chemical imbalance in my brain, not my weight.

At one point, I was terribly depressed. Didn't do much but slug around the house. I don't really know what made me changed my mind, but I just decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and stopped making excuses. Maybe it was just my time. I really don't know. However, eating healthier and doing exercise everyday has really made me feel great. I don't harbor those feelings anymore and don't miss them at all!

Yes, but mostly because my ex-wife used to criticize my weight every single day. And I was actually healthy back then, not overweight like I am now.

And whenever she drops off my son, there she is again, up in my face telling me how awful I look. It tears down my self-esteem to the point I can get even more depressed.

But the thing is, you can change it. I have a sweet fiance who loves me for who I am and understands my goals, and she helps me along. I've already made a lot of progress, and one day I will enjoy rubbing it in my ex-wife's face. ;) Once you lose some weight and find support, you'll find your depression lessening a bit. Mine will always linger because I have a chemical imbalance, but it makes it better if you're happy in your own skin.
