Why? So far your only argument is "because other websites have it". Which sadly is a poor argument. Other websites have porn, political discussion, religious publications etc doesn't mean we should have those.

Now, allow me to give you my reasoning for why we should NOT have this. Everytime these repeat questions are asked, most of the time, the information is repeated. That is correct. However, the admins of the site don't discourage that. Many people who provide that information (to help out) don't mind it either because many factors can be taken when answering which will result in sometimes different answers for different threads. Example:

Thread asking "is ice cream bad for you" or "is sugar bad for you" etc. They'll have similar answers of "not unless you have a medcial condition saying otherwise"

Threads asking "how much calories shoudl I be eating" or "is weight lifting good for me" etc will have different answers.

So please, don't discourage people from asking questions, even if they are repeat. If they are repeat and fall under the category where every thread of that kind will have similar answer, either show them how to search or search and post links to similar threads.

Will this help me learn everybody's Myers-Briggs type? Or whether or not I need to eat back my exercise calories?

Maybe just put a sticky at the top of each sub-forum 'saying please search before asking'.

Posters might find an answer quicker than waiting for someone to post, and it would have the added benefit of not clogging the forums up with the same old diet soda/plateau/do I eat back exercise calories/low carb/how do I lose weight questions which crop up 2-3 times a day.

Yeah, especially when they can just add the page to their favorites.
