I'm currently using the Insanity Program. After I complete the Cardio Recovery I am in pain (bad pain, not good pain). My doctor recommended stopping until I recover from my injuries.

What can I do instead? Can I substitute it with another workout video such as Cardio Abs, use as rest day, any suggestions/recommendations?

You could do Cardio abs OR better yet do a day of YOGA!
Let me ask: are you working out on a soft surface? If you are jumping up and down on hard floor, it can cause low back pain and/or knee pain. Also landing "like a cat" is very important. You could use plyo mats to workout on or at least be on a rug. Where is the pain?

cardio abs, is a lot of jumping the first portion, so if jumping and bending is your problem i wouldn't chose that one. You will have determine what is your pain and healing and resting before you re-in jury it.

Cardio Recovery to me is very similar to yoga/pilates. It's the stretching that causes me pain, and the reason I am going to the doctor now. Not having any other issues, other than the Cardio Recovery.

I work out in the basement and it is thickly padded and carpeted.

Then I would do a yoga video if you have one. That is best bet. I actually HATE cardio recovery because its a "fast stretch" and it's not actually helping me. Yoga is my offering.

Thanks guys :-)

I'll see if I can borrow a yoga video, till then I'll use it as an extra Cardio Abs day....

You guys are truly awesome, thank you.

No core cardio is some good movement. You should be fine.
