I use net carbs to decide how much insulin to take with my diabetes. I would be happy with a column that tracked grams of fiber. Then II could figure out my own net carbs using the fiber content numbers. Plus I would like the fiber option so I can make sure I am getting enough fiber each day. Just a thought. Love your web site!

food > settings> make fiber one of your 5 optional columns. Bam

Add net carbs. I already use a plugin to calculate that, but it'd be fantastic to see that as a native feature of the site. I track my net carbs to make sure I stay in ketosis, and I track calories as well as fat and protein. It'd be nice to be able to see accurate numbers when I log something from my mobile app.

#1 thing to fix PLEASE, is to allow people to include exercise calories in their net calories or NOT. I don't like it, therefore I can't even log my exercise.. Logging exercise is fun!

I track net carbs (now) and low calories.

Timestamping wouldn't be useful for me.

For people complaining about the database, that doesn't bother me as much as when I'm searching for a food, I can't see the nutritional facts before selecting to add it to my diary. I have to add it and THEN realize it is incorrect.

If I have to search for the right food in the database, then I have to search in the database, find the food, then go back to my dairy to add it AND hope it comes up correctly when I search for the food from my dairy.

It's very confusing to explain.. but it's hard to add food to the diary when you are not sure if it is correct or not (BEFOER ADDING IT TO YOUR DIARY).

Help yourself. When you're in food diary and have searched for a food to use so it moves to the right where you tell MFP how much to add to the diary...IMMEDIATELY below the name of the food is a tiny link

"nutritional info"
click that to see the details before logging it to your diary, you see the full nutrition details logged for that food that way just like food >database not just the up to 5 optional columns available on the site

Hi,

We are looking to gather some feedback from members on a couple of specific items. This information will help us better understand how members are using certain features and will allow us to gather insights and ideas for future improvements.

1. Would timestamps in logging food be useful? If so, how would that information be helpful and what would you do with it?

2. How often do you track your net carbs? If tracking net carbs is a central focus for you, do you also closely track calories?

Thanks,
Olivia

Timestamps don't seem unusually helpful to me, but I organize my diary by timespans anyway. If I didn't, I might find timestamps useful but only if they were editable, and I'm not sure I'd ever want a report from it.

I don't track carbs any differently from protein or fats so i would not find it useful.

Many other features mentioned here and elsewhere, and making sure the website has AT LEAST as many features as the various apps, would be much more important to implement.

I would not use the timestamp feature for food because, although I often log immediately, I sometimes don't and don't want to enter extra info. It would bug me if it were inaccurate but I wouldn't want to do the work to make it accurate. I'd be happy to have it as an opt in/out function.

I look at net carbs probably more than any other macro, but I track and work for calories. Calories are my must. Net carbs are a goal I hope to hit as a percent of calories.

I WOULD like my exercise time stamped, because it would help me integrate with fitbit. I would also really like you to import from Runkeeper. Then my life would be so much easier.

I would also like to see this.

Time stamp instead of seperate meal and snack times or time stamp too. I don't think the time stamp would be all that important for me. I tend to pre-log items when I know my menu.

Net carbs is a no for me, but I know my parents with their medical issues work with net carbs, but they just do the math in their head.

Timestamps, no. Net carbs could be interesting and useful.

How about better, exportable reports instead of this nonsense?

Won't say it's nonsense. Would REALLY like better exportable reports.

What exactly is net carbs useful for again?

A timestamp I wouldnt mind, but not really sre it would help.

Hi Olivia!

1. Would timestamps in logging food be useful? If so, how would that information be helpful and what would you do with it?

No, I prelog most of my days and don't really care if my banana is logged as a snack but I end up eating it as part of breakfast.

2. How often do you track your net carbs? If tracking net carbs is a central focus for you, do you also closely track calories?

I don't track net carbs but I did Atkins before and understand the concept. As long as you're tracking your carbs and fiber, you can do the math yourself.

Although I wouldn't call these ides nonsense, I don't need them. Better reports is much more valuable and long overdue.

Net carbs, but only if accurate. Time stampping no

Use a "add note" above each meal category (much like fitbit) so user can add time factor there or description if wanted.

Timestamping wouldn't work for me, however I do use netcarbs.

Also would like to see a place where I can manually log in my steps per day to get exercise credit

1. I would not find timestamps useful.

2. I very much track carbs as well as calories and I absolutely love the pie chart and goal percentage indicators on the iPad ap. However I only have the iPad app at home, at work I use the online tool and I MISS that chart. Would love it if it was part of the summary. I frequently use it to determine what to order if I am going out to eat for lunch. Can we get it in the browser version?

I track my net carbs daily. I wish you had this feature on your site and mobile app. I have to use a different site to track my net carbs and it would just be easier if the net carbs was a feature.

Also food timestamps real doesn't matter to me. Knowing the difference between my breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks is enough for me.

I thought I wanted time stamping but really not so much anymore.
I would like to have a customizable report which allowed me to see net calories, carbs and protein.

Net carbs is a HUGE deal. When you are on a low carb diet, you really need this info. Please add it as soon as you can.

Timestamping.. nope.

Net carbs though would be great. Used to use a script but for some reason it's gone kaput. Also, i'd be nice to have a pie chart with a breakdown of your carbs, fats and protein for the day.. more for a visual presentation of your day. Essential, no... but it would be nice :)
