Firstly, I run this group here at MFP. If you're looking for no-nonsense, individualized support, please give us a visit.
"It's simple really. Steve knows his stuff. I knew that before I hired him for his online coaching service. I had read a lot of his articles and followed his posts on WLF. After hiring him though it showed me an entirely different level of knowledge and attention that made me so comfortable with his approach.
There were steps along the way where I questioned some of his advice. Some of it was so different from what I was used to, but at the same time, it's hard not to trust him.
Because of his guidance I'm in the best shape of my life and I swear I look better than I did in high school! As a bonus my relationship with food and exercise is at an all time high and I really feel like I understand stuff now.
His approach is slick. He holds you accountable, he takes the guess work out of everything, everything is custom tailored to you, and he makes himself very available. I felt as if I had my own, on-call fitness trainer and, in a way, I suppose I did.
If you're looking for a passionate expert who genuinely cares about your success, Steve is one of the very few professionals I would ever recommend in this space.

Yes, that's a shameless plug for my online coaching service. It's rare that you'll see me advertise, but after learning that people who've followed me for years here on myfitnesspal had no idea that they could hire me, I figured I should put it right out there on my profile.

If you didn't feel like clicking on the link above but you want a brief description of my professional side, I suppose you could say I'm a fitness consultant, for lack of a better categorization. I own a gym. I train an array of clients, from obese to teams. I write. I consult with coaches and gyms. I offer web-based training. So I dabble in a little bit of everything.
My passion, first and foremost, is training. The personal training industry is in horrible shape, no pun intended. There are a lot of hucksters out there who either have no business advising people about their exercise or who are solely interested in fattening their wallets.
Me? I just like helping people reach their goals. I also enjoy the education process.
Hopefully you'll learn something from me. Hopefully I'll learn something from you... I've seen some really smart members sharing information here. At the very least, hopefully you'll enjoy my company.
I'd like you to know that my door is open. I'm here because it's my passion to share information about this stuff. If you have questions, please feel free to ask via email if you don't catch me on the forums.
I put out a newsletter and I blog as frequently as my schedule permits. You can stay abreast of my latest writing by subscribing to the RSS or Email link on my website.

Why I want to get in shape
I'm in good shape now. I want to maintain it for many reasons. My fitness supports my lifestyle - I love to mountaineer, mountain bike, go on adventures, play sports, keep up with the youngsters, etc.
I also fear the idea of being dependent in my later years.
I enjoy being strong and healthy and the mission is to maintain that for a life time. Form follows function.
I haven't filled this out yet.
