My height is 5' 11-3/4", my starting weight is 462.2 pounds, and my starting BMI works out to be 63.1. :(
I could lose 22.2 pounds and still have a BMI of just over 60. That would still qualify me, with my insurance, to fast track bariatric surgery. (3 months of prep instead of the normal 6 months.) I'm not sure if I want the surgery yet or not, but I figure I have a couple of months to decide.
I am a little depressed, though, by the fact that if I dropped to 220 pounds, I'd still have a BMI of 30.0, just barely putting me into the obese category.
Why I want to get in shape
Sick and tired of the consequences of being overweight.
- My mom. She got bariatric surgery and lost a lot of weight.
