Classic yo-yo dieter. but I've managed to get back up to the wrong side of 20 stone again...
I'm a big stocky guy anyway so not looking to get really light - I've set my goal at 100kg.
Some years I'm really active - then other slip by without me getting much exercise at all. During those years the kgs have piled back on.
I've tried low carb diets several times and they work well for me - my record was 5 stone lost over 9 months but when I come off the diet the weight comes back either slowly or quickly. Ive put this down to eating too little and a drastically lowered BMR.
This time round I'm not trying anything I'm not prepared to do for the rest of my life, I'm keeping the calorie count up where it should be and I'm adding weight training in to my weekly routine to keep my muscle mass and hence my BMR high.
Why I want to get in shape
Just want to relieve the strain I'm putting on my body from carrying the extra weight.
