About Me

Ummm, let's see. I was a normal weight child until by the time I was in 4th grade I weighed 192lbs. Not much changed over the years. At my low around the age of 18, I weighed 178lbs. At my highest, I weighed 220lbs (I believe around 16 yrs old). I was also diagnosed with PCOS. Finally, a month after my 23rd birthday, I had enough. My friend had lost a good amount of weight using weight watchers. I didn't want to go that route. But something finally clicked. I started at Curves. I started eating better and watching my portions but still letting myself have the foods I liked. I started drinking more water and gave up soda. I got a treadmill for Christmas. I started at 213lbs. From Nov 2003 to August 2004, I lost down to 147lbs. So I lost 66lbs. Then I got pregnant. I had to stop going to Curves because of my morning sickness that didn't want to go away. But I only gained 28lbs and it melted off in the 1st 6 weeks of having my baby. Minus one bump along the road where I gained some weight after that, I eventually got down to 120 - 122lbs. I exercised at home using dvds, my treadmill, occasionally our bowflex, a jump rope, and my dumbells. I was in maintenance, but trying to tone up and build a little muscle when I got pregnant again (October 2007). I had a rough pregnancy where activity was restricted and I was encouraged to eat (plus my cravings were way worse this time). I gained 40 something pounds and the baby was 3 weeks early. Well, I found it hard to change my eating habits. I basically hovered around 155-157lbs. Then I actually ended up gaining to 165.8lbs. I had it. I managed to lose 5 lbs and then played lose and gain for about 2 months. Ugh. Finally I did it. I got back to my old habits. So here I am at 5'4", 29 yrs old, and now at 136.6 lbs from a starting weight of 165.8 lbs. I lost 8 lbs before finding this site and the rest since joining. I love it here! It's so helpful. I'm looking to get down to 125-128lbs.

Why I Want To Get In Shape

I want to feel better about myself and feel more in control of my life.
I want my girls to grow up with a healthier lifestyle than I did.
I would love to be able to wear the clothes I barely got to wear before getting pregnant with my 2nd daughter.

My Inspirations

  • My friend Amy...my original inspiration
  • Being healthy for me and my family
  • Myself - I've done it before and I can do it again!

I am doing horrible, I have gained 7 pounds back, I have been a total slacker for the past month, and I have not been exercising but I am back on it as of today and I will do this.
