I'm a southern belle and a crazy cat lady. I grew up eating fried everything on top of cornbread and rice, and we followed up every meal with a dessert. To this day I have terrible cravings for something sweet after I eat a meal; I'm trying to overcome that.
I lost a lot of weight when I went to college and felt great.
After graduation, I became a teacher, and it turned into very long stressful days at the school that led to a fast food diet and every bit of the weight coming back - plus more.
My family is rife with fat logic. My husband and I moved in with my grandparents to help care for them. Seeing their slew of health problems and mobility issues inspired us to get fit together.

Why I want to get in shape
I want to be independent when I'm in my 80s and not crippled by obesity.
I want to stave off diabetes, which runs rampant in my family (both Type I and Type II!).
I want to run a zombie 5k because they look like hella fun.
