About Me
I am Asian, my mother and sisters are your typical tiny Asians with tiny bones. I, however, take after my dad side of the family..."stocky". I was 9 pounds when I was born, and have been big since. My mother have always told me that I've "never been skinny" and I never will. Mom was right, I may never be skinny, but Mom...I'll be healthy.
I started powerlifting when I was much younger,I've really enjoy the competitive part of powerlifting. I have held most of the Washington State records, 2 National records and a World record at one time. I got my World Record when I was 37 years old. 3 months after achieving my World Record I was involved in a car accident, hit by a 88 year old lady who had Alzheimer’s and should not have been driving. It ended my powerlifting career. I now coach the powerlifting team for Special Olympics in my area.
I work out at least 5 times a week, twice a day on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as doing something active outdoors at least 1 day a week in the winter and 2 times or more a week in the spring, summer and fall.
I have lost over 50 pounds, but more importantly I have gone from about 40% bodyfat to 18% bodyfat, which is were female athletes are. I am very proud of this accomplishment. It has taken a lot of hard work. I have gone from size 18 jeans to a size 6.
I am a survivor. I had a 13 pound ovarian tumor removed, and survived the ordeal. I have been cancer free now for over 4 years, which I celebrate every year by walking at least 6 hours of the 24 at the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society.

My new passion in volunteering...Winners On Wheels (WOW), for children 4 to 17 in wheelchairs. They're the greatest group of kids ever.
Why I Want To Get In Shape
Like my mother have always said, I take after my dad's side of the family. My dad died at age 54 after 9 strokes and 13 heart attacks from high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes. Most of my dad's family members die at a young age of high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes...I'm determined to change family history.
My Inspirations
- My father
- My Special Olympics athletes
- My WOW kids (Winners On Wheels 4 to 17 year old kids in wheelchairs)
- Carl/if he can do it, there's no reason why I can't(pic of friend in wheelchair)
