About Me
I've never been morbidly obese, but I have struggled with weight and body image for the last 20 years or so. I've been through anorexia, binging/purging, obsessive exercise, you name it. A bout of situational depression two years ago had me looking the best I had since my wedding! However, the ensuing cross-country move and job change coupled with different restaurants, different gym, different stressors has had my weight ballooning up to what I weighed when I was pregnant with my now 9-year-old son. Unacceptable. Currently my BMI is just over 25 and I feel extremely self-conscious about it. I am participating in a program with my employer, and am very pleased with it so far!
Why I Want To Get In Shape
I want to look and feel healthier. I want my trousers to fit a little looser--even better if I can move to a smaller size! I want to be able to wear a bathing suit on a family vacation this summer without looking like a whale next to my size-6 sister. I want to be able to actually wrap a gym towel all of the way around my body!
