Mother of two (34 & almost 18) Husband is a chef and no he doesn't do all the cooking at home. I work a desk job during the day and teach taekwondo at night. On the last phase of training for my 3rd Degree Black Belt.
I have also been living with Lupus for the last 30 years. High dose Prednisone does a number on your weight even if you can control the increased appetite. Had a flare last year, caught early,but had high pulse of steroids while the immunosuppressants kicked in. Back on maintenance does of Prednisone (yay) but fighting the tummy bulge again
Why I want to get in shape
Realized the difference between "working out" and "training"....Training requires a multifaceted approach. Made decision to pay a trainer to motivate me and help me develop a good routine to increase the good (stamina, flexibility, core strength, muscle tone) and reduce the bad ( BMI; body Fat %). Also have a 50th B-Day trip to NYC in OCT so want to look REALLY GOOD!
- Lost 40 lbs 10 years ago on WW and never want to be there again
- Knocking out the sugar monster that lives under my bed
- Feelling good in my clothes again
- fit now = fit for life
