About Me

I am 5'8", 44 years old, I am married, and I have had three children (my first born passed away of cancer and this is my 2nd marriage). My youngest is 3 years old going on 21, LOL! It took me 7 months to LOSE 20 pounds. I power walked before (1 mile in an hour) and NOW I'm training myself to run (1 mile in an hour; burning 350 calories), Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednedays, and Fridays during my lunch hour. I now weigh 169.4 pounds as I weigh myself once a month (every 15th of the month). I have added my before and after photos today (16 Oct 09). Take your pick on the BEFORE pictures -- see the one where I'm sitting on the chair? Take a good look as you can see my STOMACH lying on my lap, LOL! I was about 174 pounds...my HEAVIEST was 189. I am tall, so we tend to "hide" our weight; except when we sit down, LOL! Look at the Jamaica (honeymoon) picture w/hubby as I was STILL at 174 pounds. My before picture of course, is of me in the office photo BEFORE I had the baby in 2006 and AFTER I had the baby (January 2009) when I began my exercise and diet regimen this year. My 2nd goal is to lose 10 additional pounds before my b-day (March 2010). Blessings!

Why I Want To Get In Shape

We live in a two story house (mind you, we have only 13 steps). I am TIRED of going to the top and panting like a dog! We also have stairs at work and now when I climb them I smile instead of gasp for air.

My Inspirations

  • My health (my mother, brother, and little sister are diabetic)
  • My son. NOW I can run after my son.
  • I used to huff, puff, and pant just to climb stairs...not anymore!
  • I had lost my willpower a long, long time ago. I'm glad it's back!

Thanks for the advice Eva! I have tweeked my goals slightly so I don't disappoint myself as much if I don't make them. I may continue to adjust as I see what my body does and what a good pace for my body is. Once I get to 160, I think I'm going to take it a little more slowly... Thanks, and great job on your success!! You inspire me!
