Hi...I'm Dave. I turned 53 in the summer of 2013. I'm not in a mid-life crisis, but I do know that loosing weight and then managing my weight as well as managing my personal fitness have been more challenging as I got older. Growing older is NOT for Sissies! So in December 2011, I decided it was time for me to "turn the page" and loose the excess weight and improve my fitness. I kicked off my pursuit of better personal fitness and weight loss on Dec 1, 2011.
Why I want to get in shape
I have lived a relatively active life, enjoying exercise and sports. I want to continue these activities for many more years. Improving my fitness and loosing and then managing my weight will allow me to continue to enjoy these activities.
- Not to ignore my health, as did my father (who died too young)
- Be around for my family
- Be more comfortable with my self image
