I'm just an old soldier whose kids have recently left the nest. Now that they are gone, I've decided I want to lead a healthier lifestyle and have implemented a fitness plan to make so.
I retired from the Army a few years back and promised myself then that whenever my weight hit 200-210 or so, I'd take action to bring it down so it didn't get out of control.
I've been pretty good with that promise and have maintained a weight of 200-190 pretty consistantly, but now I'm going all in. I'm going to get back down to my old military standard and keep it there.
My 2012 Goals:
Run the St Jude Marathon in December
Why I Want To Get In Shape
Having spent most of my adult life in the US Army, staying fit was sort of a requirement for my employment. Once I retired from the military five years back, I enjoyed my new found freedom of eating what I wanted, sleeping in, and not having to deal with daily five mile runs.
Well, forty pounds later, I decided I don't like the way I look or feel so I dusted off the running shoes and hit the concrete. I found that I actually missed running.
- To look and feel better
- To lead an active and fit lifestyle
