About Me
I'm 52 years old and spent most of my life working out and eating the "right" foods.
Disaster hit when I was 38 years old being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis & Hypothyroidism simultaneously ~ the thinking being that the slow thyroid was a biproduct of the autoimmune MS.
106 lbs in my 20's, 116 in my 30's, to a whomping 196 in my 40's...lost 52lbs then regained always due to some sort of off the wall problem. 3 years ago it was Candida overgrowth. 2 years ago it was parasites from drinking water. Last year, my spine decided to torque into a pretzel. Because I was unable to exercise (my fav is resistance weight training on my Bowflex) I am now back in the 170's feeling FAT and more determined to reach my goal of 130.
I am a SAHM with a 16yo daughter and a husband that travels alot. I am not new to this. I've been fighting to reach my goal since 2003 and at one point I was 14 lbs away from it...but then life happened and here I am (laughs) not only counting calories but WW points too!
Currently, I live in Ontario, Canada but my husband has been transferred and we are in the midst of selling our home and moving to Virginia, USA.
*Update: Our home is SOLD in Ontario and this past week (May5-9), hubby and I were in Virginia buying our new home ~ We are sooo excited...Move out of Ontario July 11 and into Virginia on July 16...In the interim we will be living out of a "pet-friendly" hotel.
I could really use some friends to help me along the way.
(Ahhh luvs ya Sass!)
Update: As of April 18 I have started my consultation with a Lifestyle Coach and Exercise Trainer. I had the Nutritional hour yesterday and although I felt I was doing well basically eating ala Weight Watchers, this will be sooo much a more healthy lifestyle change. It's a science. Website to explain my HOPE and excitement is http://www.xelf.ca
Why I Want To Get In Shape
To be the best I can be healthwise ~ both physically & in the self esteen department.
Living the way I would like to live my life unrestricted by the embarrassment of being the "fat lady".
My Inspirations
- NOTHING Tastes As Good As Skinny Feels.
- Feeling Good and Feeling Good About Myself because if I don't NO one else will.
- My family ~ If I am healthy ...they are too!
- I love clothes...can't wait to wear that new "skinny" wardrobe.

Hi ya there....Nice to meet you. Hey! We have something else in common! We both have an autoimmune disease. I have Sjogren's Syndrome. I have some Liver and GI issues that go along with that. I know exactly what you're going through. I have put on weight for similar reasons and then also because I just wasn't paying attention to what I was doing. If you think about it....when you have an autoimmune disease, our bodies are very sensitive to the toxins we put into it and will react by attacking itself. So remember that before you eat something that you know isn't good for you. I try to remember, but sometimes I can't help myself. I will have to say tho, I have changed alot and am feeling better. We CAN do this and we can do this TOGETHER!
