I used to be one of those annoying skinny people who could eat ANYTHING they wanted and not gain weight, until my late 20's. Then the pounds started coming on. I tried to fight it...I've been on many diets over the past 35 years including Weight Watchers, Atkins, South Beach, the Rice diet. Cabbage Soup diet and I'm sure there are more. I lost weight on each one but always seemed to find it all again and more. I have edited my total weight loss shown here to include the 22 pounds I lost prior to starting to log here on MFP.
Highest weight - 268 (in 2007)
MFP starting weight - 246 (13 June 2012)
Goal weight - 165
I am divorced, have two grown daughters, 5 grandkids plus 2 step-grands. My hobbies include quilting, sewing, knitting, crochet and a few other needlework type things. I've had both of my hips replaced so I am not as mobile as I once was. I was also in a car accident in April 2012 and broke both my arms so my exercise options have narrowed significantly.
I have joined here because I hope that by tracking what I eat and exercise, it will help me along this journey to becoming healthier.
Why I want to get in shape
To be healthier - and avoid diabetes!
To get off high blood pressure meds.
So I can buy clothing off the regular size racks!
To take some stress off of my hips and legs.
To feel better about myself.
To get back to feeling normal size at family gatherings.
- My sweet grandkids!
- A better selection of clothing in smaller sizes
- Did I say pretty clothes?
