Several years ago I got on the scale and I saw a number I never thought I'd see - 200. Myself and a group of coworkers, partially inspired at the time by "Omnivore's Dilemma" set off on a new, healthy lifestyle.
A couple months later, and already about 10lbs lighter, I decided that even though I hated running, I was going to start running. And I'm still running and I love it.
Today I'm back around my early college weight and running more than ever.
Why I want to get in shape
1) I want to look good. Can't stand looking at myself in the mirror with that extra weight and if I want a partner who's attractive I need to be too.
2) It's good for me! The past few years I've felt better than I had for several years. Its amazing how lousy you feel when you're fat.
3) Its a major problem in our country & world and I hope that my lifestyle is something others will follow. Some have.
