About Me
I'm a very busy single mom, working on my masters and dedicated to my work with the non-profit foundation that I helped to found almost two years ago.
Why I Want To Get In Shape
I realized that I was really unhealthy...blood values that indicated insulin resistance, and cholesterol numbers that were terrifyingly sky high. Turns out I have a pretty rare genetic metabolic disorder...and on top of that, my thyriod went downhill too. This was 'real life' hitting me between the eyes at 29.
Weight loss would be nice, but being able to run thirty minutes is a triumph I savor every workout. Knowing that my cholesterol values are lower than the literature suggests is even possible for someone with my disorder is a beautiful thing.
It won't come easy, but I love my workouts and I never-ever want to feel the way I used to again.

- My incredible five-year-old--he needs me.
- The way it makes me feel to reach another height of physical ability.
- This one pair of jeans that I have not been able to wear in 10 years!
