About Me

I love kids. I have an adult son, who has a son of his own, and my daughter is 15. I did childcare when my daughter was young and loved it enough to make a career of it. I went to college, earned a degree in ECE, and taught for the Head Start program. Three years ago my husband got a new job, we moved, and my life changed. I left behind my wonderful job and even more wonderful friends. In three years I haven't quite found my niche in this little, rural town so I've had to redefine aspects of my life. I act as host parent to the kids in our school district, and this is a very rewarding experience for my family and for the girls who live with us. If you have NEVER done this, you might want to contact your local school and see where you can go to sign up, or look it up on the internet. There are many agencies who sponsor kids, they just need homes. I also love to take road trips. My biggest expedition was a trip to Mt Rushmore this summer. We camped on the way there and back and I know I made a million memories for my daughter and her friend. Spring Break this year was a trip to the Grand Canyon, although I did fly to Vegas and rent a car for the trip.

Why I Want To Get In Shape

My main goal is to be a better role model for my own daughter. I had her when I was 37 so I'm in my 50's now and she's now 15. There's still a lot I want to do with her and last summer I really felt fatigued on our 11 day vacation. This year I felt aches and pains I've never felt before and I'm hoping some of it is weight related and I'll feel better when I'm not so heavy.

My Inspirations

  • My children and my grandchildren.
  • My awesome blue dress I'd like to wear one more time.
  • I can get a breast reduction when I'm at goal weight.
