About Me
I am 55 years old.
I am married to a wonderful man for going on 16 years. We have 6 children (3 his, 3 mine). Four are married and have children of their own. Yes, We are grandparents of 10 grandchildren. They are such a blessing!
Why I Want To Get In Shape
I have been obese for years. I have always been overweight since 1976 (after my 2nd child was born). That was my fault due to eating too much. I have tried so many diets off and on throughout the years.
My weight loss just yo-yoed back and forth so I will start with the year of 2003 when I weighed 300 pounds. By 2005, I finally got down to 270 and went to Curves from 2005 to 2006 trying to lose more. Their plan was good but I was not able to keep up the workouts due to health problems.
In 2006, I weighed 260 and started the non-surgery weight loss plan with Medabolix. I did really well with their plan but developed stomach trouble due to the type of foods I had to eat that I had to make changes. Yep, I gained it back plus more. Sooo, here I go again. I went there from 2006 to 2007.
I finally weighed in at 256 and hope to continue loosing the excess weight and make my body healthier so I can walk without hurting or gasping for breath.
I want to be able exercise, to ride a bicycle, to work in my flowerbed, to go camping, hunting, fishing, walking through the woods and do other things I used to do. I am so big I cannot ride with my husband on our ATV (four-wheeler) anymore.
I miss being able to participate in activities with my husband and five grown children and ten grandchildren.
I want to be healthy again. I want to have the energy I used to have. Most of all, I want to live longer. The excess fat is wearing my body out, slowly killing me.
My husband, Charley, is fully supportive of me. He has always been encouraging me with my struggle losing weight. He will be my “caretaker” and help me in every way.
Today I weigh 236 pounds. A long ways to go yet.
