Insanity Day 40 - Max Month

I'm maxxed out. 

I don't feel recovered.

Max Recovery is no recovery at all!

In Month 1 I'd get quite giddy for Thursdays beacuse that's usually recovery day.  I'd feel pretty good afterwards and I do feel 'somewhat' recovered from the previous three days of hardcore workout.   But Max Recovery...oh Max Recovery is a whole 'nother ball game...Max Recovery makes your butt and thighs feel like you're putthing them through torture chambers...Max Recovery actually makes me whimper and cry more than any other workouts I've done in this program.  No joke. 

I'm happy to report I got more sleep than 2 hours last night!  A-Bomb did wake up 7 times between 8pm - 12am but according to Jez, she only woke up once at 1:30am but I completely slept through it...I guess she gave up and went back to sleep.  

I happily took her to nursery this morning (she wasn't so happy...) and after Jez left, I waltzed upstairs and saw what I had to do.  Blergh...still, the second the DVD started and I saw Shaun T in those tight workout pants...I can't help but smirk a bit.

That man's butt refuses to quit...forget about bouncing off quarters!  That butt can probably break a rolling pin in half...

The workout is SOOOOOO HARD!  No, your heart rate doesn't race like the other workouts and you don't jump at all but all the squating positions, all the lunges, the 'groin opening' sets, the pulsing...oh how I hate the pulsing!  I had to stretch out my legs so often, probably every 3 to 4 seconds, how are these guys holding it for so long?!  And the CSI Warrick lookalike...'Reuben'...I rolled the R when I said his name...he is also a nice hunk of yum yum...but I am mostly impressed by his leg power!  The Plie/Tip Toe Pulsing Side Bend I Want to Kill Myself sets are so killer but he just stays in like a rock!  With thighs like that...I think He should moonlight as Santa Clause or some job where people sits on his lap all day...

After a gruelling 47 minutes, I burned a measly 198kcal, didn't even break to 200!  My legs are shaking, my arms are shaking and I don't feel one bit recovered.  I better have a banging good butt after this month...that's all I'm saying...

Week 2 in Month 2 is almost over!  The end is in sight...

Love it! I find the month 1 recovery hard enough! Im wondering how many times Im gonna have to do the programme before I can actually 'do' it without yelling at my thighs to stop shaking >.<
Still, a butt and thighs that look good in Daisy Dukes has GOT to be worth the pain... right?

I agree. I dread the Max Recovery day more than any other. It burns so much, but it will all be worth it when I can wear a bikini this summer! Great job for sticking with it! We will all have rockin bods if we can master that!

Love the color you put to this - I did Insanity for about 5 weeks then pulled a chest muscle that put me out of commission for about 6 weeks. Haven't gone back - closer to my goal weight I think I'll give it another shot.

Wow, I must have overdone it yesterday working out as my muscles were quivering like mad when we had to do these stretches in recovery. I don't know how they can hold those stretches for so long as I had to stand straight up otherwise I was afraid I was going to cramp.

I think I sweat more in this workout than any of the others lol. Nearly there!!!!
