My favorite restaurant in the Kansas City area is probably the Yia Yia's Eurobistro at 119th and Roe in Leawood.  They are phenomenally good about adapting things for special diets. Today I had their pepperoni pizza on a gluten free crust, but had them leave off the pepperoni, since I'm vegetarian. The server knew before I asked that I would need cucumber slices instead of bread to dip in the baba ghanouj that they always bring you. The pizza (roasted garlic and crimini mushrooms) was fantastic, and I had to really force myself not to snarf the whole thing.  The soup of the day is often vegetarian and always delicious. Today's was a red pepper gazpacho, but I skipped that, knowing I wanted pizza because I needed comfort food. I see that they now have gluten free pasta, as well, so I may check that out at some point. Yia Yia's is kind of on the pricey side, but we buy gift cards at Costco, so $100 to spend there only costs us $80. Today's lunch of pizza for me and a burger for my husband was about $24 before the tip.
