Addicted to Chocolate

So I love my veggies, and I love my fruits.  I eat lean meats and whole grains.  I love being healthier and working out and eating better.  It makes me feel amazing.   However!!!  I absolutely cannot stop with the sweets!  Chocolate, ice cream, brownies, cookies.  I try to stay within my calories, even with the sweets, but the chocolate always just calls my name!!!! I cannot resist.  Seriously this is getting out of control.  Any suggestions!?

Yea, let me know when you find a solution to that addiction. I have the same problem and the only solution so far is to not buy it and bring it into the house in the first place. It works but that doesn't mean I still don't crave... I have such a sweet tooth. I've gotten into the habit of chewing sugar-free gum and that helps a bit. I've also learned not to deprive myself, so I allow one day a week to cheat and eat all the bad stuff I crave for ONE MEAL! Because when I don't I get all stressed out and that leads to one or three serious binges and it's ugly!! I'd rather have one controlled junk meal than 3 uncontrollable ones. Good luck.

Get someone else to do your weekly food shopping on your behalf or order it online to be delivered to prevent yourself piking up junk foods. If you dont have them in your house you wont be able to binge on them. You could also allow yourself a small treat a day so if you are under your calorie intake and have done your exercising you can allow yourself something nice but in moderation. Hope this helps xx

I agree with the " In moderation" rule. It's okay if you let yourself have a little bit here and there. Only as long as you're still under you cals. Here's one thing I do. I get something REALLY nice, like a nice chocolate bar( the big kind that you can break into squares)It's cool to splurge on something like that because you can say to yourself "I'm not going to eat that nasty not choclate because I have something FAR niceer waiting for me at home" If it's trouble with eatting the entire thing at one sitting. Try breaking it apart and freezing it. Defrost some as wanted(to me frozen chocolate bars taste nasty)

I used to eat LOADS of chocolate, but now only buy 70% or higher chocolate and eat just one to three squares. It is so strong that my body says enough already before the third one. You may find that it is what is in the chocolate that is addictive not the chocolate itself. Do try the very dark ones, you can get them with all sorts of bits inside ie; ginger yumyum, chili?, strawberries etc. Let us know how you all get on if you do try it.
