Marathon Training week 15
I don’t know why I never posted this but I want to now just so I remember everything in my marathon training. I figure late is better than never. This is really old and I wrote some of this awhile back...and tried to remember the rest as best I could.
Monday-REST
Tuesday- 5 miles (53:21)
Wednesday- 5 miles (53:02)
Thursday- Shoulders/chest/tri strength plus 35 mins elliptical
Friday-20 miles!!!!!! (3:39:08) So I was semi excited to run this run. This was the peak of our marathon training and I felt mixed about running it solo. I absolutely love having B with me when I run because she’s such a great distraction, motivator, constant, ect, but I also knew that if I could tackle 20 miles all by my lonesome then there was nothing stopping us on marathon day!! SO I started out this run earlier than I get up most days, getting out there around 6:40ish. I was so lucky that I had a bunch of texts and messages wishing me good luck on the run. I am such a lucky girl to have all the support and good wishes on my side. So the first 3 miles were with Lisa virtually. I was feeling pretty good at this point and actually got to see the sunrise. After you get past the shock of getting up so early it’s actually not so bad running in the am! Nicole text me around mile 4 and she was going to join me virtually for the next 4ish miles. I took my gu here and I don’t know what is up with my stomach but I think I need to lay off the fiber before I run or something. Mile 5 consisted of me sprinting across a parking lots hoping and praying I will make it to the McDonald’s bathroom before I embarrass myself, jeez! Not fun…..I have 3 weeks to try and get this under control, this will not be fun if it happens on marathon day. Anyways, after taking care of business I was on my way and was still running without music. It was nice to be lost in thought. I remember this run was great as I did the first 14 miles without music at all. There was a wall at mile 17 and I remember hating life at this point but I just found a good song and pushed through….then I got my second wind. Nothing was stopping me now. I actually felt great at mile 19….like I could of kept going if I had to, but I figured I may as well stop at 20. I stopped where I had a good walk cool down and was just looking forward to all the food I was going to be able to eat the rest of the day. I had a blizzard from DQ to celebrate. Let’s just say it definitely wasn’t as good as I remember.
Saturday-45 minutes VERY light elliptical for recovery
Sunday-5 miles (55:32)
