Something I Thought I Would Never Do

Back in January I started out my fitness journey by walking 1 mile a day. Thats it.

If you had told me then that I would be on the track at 5 am three days a week running I would have laughed in your face and told you how much I hated running.

Today, I finished my first 5k!! (in 32 minutes!)

Sure, I had to walk some of it, but I ran the majority of it and it felt amazing. :)

I still dont really like running, but it feels awesome to have pushed myself to this point and I honestly couldnt have done it without the support of all my MFPals.

Next stop? 5k on June 10th. Goal - run the entire thing!

after the run

My friend and I after the race. At this point I thought my legs just might fall off. Haha.

How you "felt" is how i feel. Congratulations on your success. I have been searching the web for walk/run programs. I plan to try a program this summer. Thanks for the post and the inspiration! You (both) look great.

Congrats! That sounds like an excellent way to start the day, too. I've been wanting to try something like that, but I'm sooo self-conscious...
