A new EXCITEMENT and DETERMINATION!
6/26/12 I'm almost recovered from the awful ear infections. I don't know of anyone who has ever managed to get BOTH ears infected simultaneously before. Leave it to me!
I have started today with a fresh perspective on my lifestyle and the way I approach it. I'm back to the basics! Looking at a friend's diary made a huge impact on me this morning. She logged 14 cups of water. I don't log water. DIDN"T log water. I knew I drank way more than I had to, usually more than 14 cups a day. WAY MORE! So, I didn't see the point. I am doing this for me, and I knew I was drinking it. But...today...it just struck me odd for some reason as I sat there and looked at that number. 14.
Somehow, it all just made sense to me. I have to log it. To be successful, I have to log EVERYTHING that goes into my mouth. I haven't been doing that. I haven't added all the spices I use, salt, etc. Sometimes I will forget to add a piece of fruit I eat later in the evening. Those small things will NOT put me over the calorie limit. So does it hurt me? No....?
Yes. Because a few little slips turn into a lot of slips. Estimating a cup isn't hard, but it also isn't honest. A cup has a tendency to get a little bigger, bigger, bigger...bit by bit. So, I'm getting back to the basics. I'm measuring everything, logging everything, timing my exercise (I've always done that!), and planning my meals each day to include veggies and high fiber foods!
Yay for me!
