ELIMINATION CHALLENGE - WEEK 3

11 WEEK ELIMINATION CHALLENGE - WEEK 3

WELCOME TO WEEK 3!!!!

WOW!  You guys BLEW ME AWAY with your dedication this week!! I have NEVER seen SO MANY people do So Well in WEEK 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am SO PROUD OF EVERYONE!!!  And you should be Proud Of Yourselves!!!

FIRST OFF - The SAFE TEAM FOR THE WEEK was.....The TIGERS!!!  AWESOME JOB!!! 

I REALLY didn't think I'd have a safe team this week with soooo many people on each team...but I actually had 3 that were in the running! Okkkk Calllll me Speechless!!!

 Tigers, Geckos and Phoenixes!  It came down to total % of weighloss to determine the safe team!  AMAZING!!!!!!  EVERY ONE OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Nature of this challenge you signed up for is Elimination...So there has to be Eliminations No matter how great everyone did.  As I've said before -

Eliminations are based on a person not finishing the challenge, those giving the bare minimum, not posting or weighing in on time and on % of weightloss. Some is strictly facts and some will be judgment calls.  THIS WEEK because it is still new and everyone's bodys are making an adjustment - I made NO eliminations based on Weightloss.  I'm So sorry if this effected some others that worked hard but there were NO EASY eliminations this week!  I just had to make the calls....

 I Did NOT eliminate the full 12 this week, so that may mean an increase in future eliminations BUT the longer you are in the challenge the more you will get out of it!  So that's what I'm hoping for! 

 ALSO, AS I'VE STATED in the past - IF YOU ARE ELIMINATED - YOU ARE VERY MUCH ENCOURAGED to stick with your team and these challenges!  Your name will be moved to the bottom but your accomplishments will still be tracked!!  You can still achieve goals here if you wish to continue on!!!  PLEASE DO!!!!

THE CHALLENGE this week will  Run again MONDAY - FRIDAY so only post your workouts toward the challenge for those days. Of course anything you do on the weekends may not help you for the challenge BUT it certainly will for your weigh in and they do come in to play for eliminations too!

I did talk about adding weekend "mini challenges" and I still want to - but I have (as I've told some of your team leaders) - a death in my family so it will be a little harder for me to track and I won't have as much time over the next couple weeks - so I am saving that for later.  But keep up the great work during the week and carry that weekly challenge over to your weekends!  It will only help your goals for you - and it will be part of the challenge in the near future!!     ______________________________________________________________ WEEK 3 CHALLENGE

#1 - WORKOUT - 30/60/90/120

Each person must burn a minimum of 1200 Calories BUT:

In doing that you MUST have a 30, 60, 90 and 120 minute workout -

YOU MAY USE tomorrow Sunday and next Saturday (before the weigh in deadline of 10:00 am pst) for your 120 minute workout ONLY!   As I know it can be hard to get that in!  ALL times MUST be gotten in, in (1 solid workout) EXCEPT the 120 minutes - that may be split in 2 (either 2/  60 minute workouts or a 30 and a 90 minute in "1" day)

AND EACH TEAM MUST BURN A MINIMUM OF 22,000 Calories TOTAL for the Team!!!   as teams dwindle I will start specifiying specific #'s per team - but for now they are all close enough - you can do this!!! 

AND AS ALWAYS - YOUR CALORIE BURN IS ONLY COUNTED in "workout" form! Not your everyday movement!!! Please do NOT count every thing you do throughout the day! (___________________________________________________________________

#2 REPS

This Week we are going to go for CORE AND CARDIO!

Each Person MUST Do at least

 200 CORE Reps throughout the week –

AND 200 CARDIO Reps thoughout the week!

 Please ask you team leaders first if you have questions - they can make judgement calls from experience or message me if they are unsure of something you want to do.. 

EACH TEAM MUST DO a minimum of combined cardio/core  9000 REPS TOTAL

Again, more than your minimum is required here to work toward being the “Safe Team”

#3 For your HR & FR this week....

You NEED to do JUST your core # all 5 days! 

BUT

You need to do your core # of BOTH HR and FR - TWICE during 2 of the days (2 sets)  I do not care how you split this - one set right after the other OR one set in the am and one in the pm or give it an hour break...whatever - just TWO sets on TWO DAYS!

These, again,  are something that take dedication but does NOT take a lot of time so I expect everyone can find a couple minutes in their day to get these in!_____________________________________________________________

#4 EXTRA MOVEMENT POINTS - Hopefully you all get the gist of this now - seems like you do...Team leaders and past competitors are there to answer questions if you have them.

This Week you must get a total of 8 EM Pts - BUT THERE WILL BE A TEAM # this week to help your team achieve the "Save Zone"

ALL TEAMS MUST ACHIEVE 160 PTS for the Week to be considered for "Safe Team"!!

11 WEEK ELIMINATION CHALLENGE - WEEK 2

Ok….seems most everyone has the hang of this now! Thank you all for your postings – most were very easy to read through and get the info and I enjoyed reading what many of you had to write in addition to your challenge postings! Thank you all for participating and doing SO GREAT in Week 1!!!!

This will be similar to week 1 except now you will post your daily achievements to your team leader instead of the main blog (but you are welcome and Encouraged to post comments on the main blogl!!!) – please friend all your teammates ASAP so you can be in contact with them – as well as get your team leaders blog or group page from them ASAP so you can start posting and make sure your #’s are tracked.

I will have ALL teams information so if you have any problems – message me immediately so I can get you in contact with your team!

PLEASE bare with your team leaders…this is their first week doing the tracking  – so if your teams blog or thread isn’t up yet or you’re not in contact with everyone right away - TRACK your own info until it is ready for you to post on!! Feel free to message me info or questions in the meantime! Once this week gets rolling smoothly it should roll like that from here on out!!

TEAMS…..You need to pick a team name as soon as possible and let me know what that is – Team names will be an animal type! As you see team 1 is Dolphins, Team 2 is Tigers, Team 6 is Phoenixes…etc.!!_____________________________________________

 

Now the part I hate ;-P  I must eliminate challengers (approximately 12 each week) to get to the ultimate goal of 1 Winner!  That will be bases on

#1 – the Challenge MUST be completed and posted on time

#2 -  weigh in must come in on time! Friday (anytime) but NO later than 10:00 am pst Saturday morning

Your weigh ins will now go to your team leaders please and they will message me with that info. Same weigh in times will be throughout the competition as week 1 (UNLESS otherwise specified)

THERE CAN BE a SAFE TEAM each week (until the last couple of weeks) – Your entire team CAN ACHIEVE that goal ONLY by…..#1 EVERY PERSON on the team MUST COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE! #2 ALL THE TEAM TOTALS ARE MET! #3 ALL INFO AND WEIGH IN’S ARE POSTED ON TIME!! If there is more than 1 team that this happens for then it goes to the highest % of weight loss for the entire team. Then your entire team is SAFE from Elimination! If no team achieves this then all participants are up for elimination. THIS WILL be VERY TOUGH to achieve these first few weeks with SOOO many people on each team!  IF I see a SAFE TEAM in the next 2 weeks I will be VERY IMPRESSED!

NOW that you are in teams – there will be personal challenges and team #’s that need to be achieved! PLEASE READ the challenges thoroughly!!!!

 IF YOU are someone who does the bare minimum and doesn’t go the extra mile for your team #’s you will be looked at for elimination.

I did talk about adding weekend "mini challenges" but I am gonna keep Week 2 a little simple still!  So we'll try that next week I think!  The Week 2 challenge will be very similar to Week 1 - Want you guys to get aclimated and used to your teams and leaders before I start changin' it up too much!

______________________________________________________________ WEEK 1 CHALLENGE

#1 - WORKOUT

Each person must burn a minimum of 1000 Calories

HOWEVER EACH TEAM MUST BURN A MINIMUM OF 23,000 Calories TOTAL for the Team!!! 

AND YOUR CALORIE BURN IS ONLY COUNTED in "workout" form!  Not your everyday movement!!!  Please do NOT count every thing you do throughout the day!  (that is not to say - if you, for example, spend 3 hours (straight)vigorously cleaning your house - That Does Count! - but not if you're just cleaning here and there throughout the day) 

(I’ve tried to make the teams pretty even so there are lighter and heavier people on each team – as heavier people can burn more calories faster they can put up bigger #’s HOWEVER EVERYONE needs to contribute to the additional #’s!!!!)

Each team has approx 16 ppl on it for now (with the exception of 3 & 6 (who have 1 more or less) but its close enough for now that I'm keeping this # the same for all teams.

#2 REPS

This Week we are going to go for “CORE”

Each Person MUST Do at least 300 Core Reps throughout the week – Ab/back type exercises – crunches, sit ups, obliques, standing core exercises - As Before All sets must be done in a minimum of 25 at one time.   THIS IS IN ADDITION TO YOUR HR & FR (so if your HR or FR is a Core type exercise...guess you'll be getting some extra Ab work in this week!! ;-P )  This is a "Challenge" soooo No Whining!

ANYTHING that works your core is acceptable!

EACH TEAM MUST DO a minimum of 8000 REPS TOTAL Again, more than your minimum is required here to work toward being the “Safe Team”

#3 You All Picked an HR & FR last week!  As I said we will be building on this Each Week

Many of you did your HR last week even though it wasn't counted (AWESOME!)  This week it will be counted!

Your HR - You need to do just you "original #" listed on the chart ALL 5 DAYS

Your FR - Increase by 1/2 of your original # (listed on chart) - so if your original "comfort #" was 30 - this week you'll be doing 45 - again ALL 5 DAYS 

These are something that take dedication but does NOT take a lot of time so I expect everyone can find a couple minutes in their day to get these in!_____________________________________________________________

#4 EXTRA MOVEMENT POINTS - This is new to you "newbies" but was in my last challenge - EVERY TEAM has someone from before on it, who KNOW AND Understand what this is!  MOST teams have a team leader from before - IF you have questions PLEASE post them on your Team Blog FIRST!  and those with "experience" please try to answer the questions - But if they can't be answered there than feel free to message me or post a question on this main challenge blog!

Here's the gist though:

 

 

You will receive "points for it". AND It Will Also Carry through the entire competition. Some weeks I will require more "points" than others! This is a lifestyle change that helps you keep "moving!"

We are all so geared to search for that "closest" spot at the grocery store (or anywhere), and even park the basket right in front of our car instead of walking it to safety ;-) , or grabbing 20 grocery bags out of our car...so we only have to make 1 trip...taking the elevator instead of the stairs.

Most Everywhere you go, I want you to look for the "far away parking space" instead of the close up one! WHEN THIS IS SAFE FOR YOU TO DO! I don't want anyone parking in a dark scary area parking far away please!!! Or taking a roundabout walk instead of the most direct...or getting up during a commercial and walking up and own the stairs or around the outside of your house or apt building...etc. Be Creative!!!

Here is how the points will add up (and this absolutely requires you to use your judgment)! Basically every "lap" you get a point. BASE this point system as if you were walking the distance of a decent sized parking lot - 1 pt for each "lap". 1 Flt of stair (up and down) 1 pt. If you go to a hotel or apt and are on floor 4 and you walk the stairs (up AND down) - 4 pts

ex: I went to the grocery store and parked at the end of the lot. 1 lap in, 1 lap out...done. But I decide rather than leave my basket by the car or nearby basket holder to walk it back to the store - another lap in and out! 2-4 pts (you decide what seems fair based on your parking lot size!)

THIS IS ONLY COUNTED FOR BRISK (as brisk as you are able) WALKING - NOT meandering and stopping or shopping while walking!!

FOR WEEK 2 - I am requiring a minimum of 6 pts Per Person for the Week - this overall challenge will be in it for the duration! Again...lifestyle change...hoping to get everyone into new and better habits!

No Team # this Week.

I don't know if I'm going to be able to get the WEEK 2 challenge up tonight - I'm beat!  BUT I AT LEAST want to get your teams to you!  Then you can friend each other and be ready once I get the challenge up - it will be either later tonight or in the morning!  SORRY I had planned to get it up hours ago...but this was more work thank I was expectiong and I had more interruptions than I'd hoped!
