Nice blog post. really inspiring especially after my fast days of this week which was my first in a number of years. Very inspiring.

love it. when you say you have reached a psychological mile stone - I get that. Its a feeling of freedom when one realizes they have separated themselves from their old ways so much going back now seems out of the question. Congrats on that!
I dont fast- but am intrigued.
Good blog- thanks!

I know this if off topic but I'm looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what all is required to get set up? I'm assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I'm not very web savvy so I'm not 100% certain. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Kudos

You soooo do not have to starve yourself to lose weight. It is not healthy and I do not understand it.
FeedFastFeast wrote 8 months ago:
Firstly, I'm "sooooooo" as you put it, NOT starving myself and I'm not doing it just to lose weight!

great blog mate. LOL at "starving" from 20hr fast.

I was enjoying your blog - till I got to the bit where you judged other people without knowing a thing about them. You said that if you were to eat mountains of food, you would do that when you'd earned it... do you know that they hadn't?

I hope that I don't change 'inside' as a result of my journey - becoming evangelical and self-satisfied is not worth much really, it just puts you in company of people who would have judged YOU when you needed support and who will judge YOU again when you fall short of their expectations.

Good luck with your new regime.

awesome post. would love to see that lovely walk to the pub...sounds great. And I don't mind that you judge the other people, as much as we don't want to, we all do that, and if it makes us more motivated to make the right choice? works for me....

CookieCrumble - You've read that the wrong way.

I wasn't insinuating they hadn't deserved it. I was alluding to the fact that if I'd been sat there eating a mountain of food, I wouldn't have felt like I PERSONALLY deserved to be doing so.

For all I know they'd been twice the size they were and we're celebrating their success so far. I'm not judgemental, if you come to our Facebook group you will see that I am very supportive of others and am most certainly not evangelical or self satisfied!

Sorry for the confusion....

CookieCrumble - I've edited that section, thanks for pointing that out.

Great post!! AND don't apologize for blogging your feelings. It is your blog. I completely understood your point-of-view. If people are so sensitive maybe they need to look at why they are so sensitive about this sort of statement that you made.

As a new "faster" I really enjoyed reading your post. I like how you explained how watching others shoveling food into their faces helps keep you on track. This can be difficult for many to endure, but you have found a psychological way of making this work for you. Nice job!

Thanks everyone :o)

FeedFastFeast... Thank you very much for your clarification; makes perfect sense now. Sorry for the crossed wires. :-D

I grew up near Tower Park so can envisage this quite plainly. I too am doing 5:2 and it has made a big impact on me.
