Inspiration Out of Nowhere

Last night, I was minding my own business, and I had a jolt of inspiration that came out of nowhere.

It was the weirdest thing.  It was almost like the Universe saying "HEY YOU! - Did you know you could reach your weight loss goals by your birthday this year??"  It felt very real - seriously.  I feel empowered because it felt like whatever that force was that was talking to me knows I can do it.

That's the best way I can explain what happened and why I'm back here to re-commit.

In order to make this happen, it is going to require a TAKE NO PRISONERS approach.  I weigh 218.4 this morning.  This means I have  68.4 pounds to lose.

I'm going to give myself some cushion by using the new year as the "do it by" date.  In my mind this kind of says to my brain "hey, we're giving you a break here - so don't blow it" lol

To make the math easier (and to give me two days to "warm up") I'm going to use April 1st as my official start date for calculations (I am actually starting right this minute though).

Here's are the calculations - I've got.......

9 MONTHS - which is 7.6 pounds loss per month

39 WEEKS - which is 1.76 pounds a week

275  DAYS - which is .25 pounds per day

I like the per day calculation - It says to me "EVERY DAY MATTERS" :-)

I so know myself by now.  What I need is a regimen to get things going.  I can't do the "I'll just log everything I eat" thing.  That works for about 1 day with me.  What I need, for the first month anyway, is a written down diet to follow day in and day out.  I'm going to do that today. Diet game plan is to remove all added sugars, all refined carbohydrates, and to limit calories to what Myfitnesspal suggests (which I don't know because that part of the site is down right now).

I will be challenging myself to log in here to this blog every morning before I start the day, and every evening before I go to bed.  I also commit to taking my weight every day.  I know som people frown on that, but I need to do it to stay motivated.

Here I go - see you tonight blog :-)
